Is this herpes or what?!?
Thank you in advance to anyone who reads this.
So at the end of June I had unprotected sex with a guy. About two weeks later I hear rumors that his ex girlfriend told two people he gave her herpes. Three weeks after intercourse my vagina was red, tingly, burning, and kind of tender but that was it for a couple days. I thought maybe a yeast infection so I got some Monistat and after three days it was fine. Then in July the lips of my vagina felt like someone was poking it with needles. It lasted a few days then went away. Then at the end of August the same thing happend, I felt like my vagina was being poked with needles and was kind of tingly, I felt nauseus like I could have thrown up, but it only last two days. Since then it has been one a week for about 1-3 days of the needle-like feeling and sometimes kind of red. I went to the doctor in mid August and was tested for every STD but herpes because I heard it takes about 4 months for the antibodies to build up. But I was clean of anything else. I talked to the guy and he keeps saying he doesn't have it, he's never had problems, and that his ex was trying to say that to ruin his life. But I think he ruined mine! I'm going to get a blood test in a month or so just to see but want some opinions. As of right now, I have a slight discharge and the needle like feeling. I've never noticed any cluster of raised blisters or too much pain. What is it?!

I don't know about a woman's symptoms but in regards to the guy He may not know for awhile.
Honestly after a long illness I was celebant for 2 years and still am but I have new herpes breakout.
My dr advised that he has known as long as 5 years to carry the virus before a break out. and sometimes never.
SO this guy needs to be blood tested

Many people have very, very minor outbreaks--and some have no symptoms whatsoever.
However, the tingles/needles you are experiencing are classic herpes symptoms. The breakout could actually be on the cervix or interior walls of the vagina--not the outer area at all even though that is where you are feeling the "needles." Your symptoms also began within the classic time frame--2-21 days after exposure. The primary outbreak also tends to have symptoms for a longer period of time--a month or more. Which may then be followed by smaller, less noticeable attacks of the virus in coming months. So, adding all of this up, it does seem you do have the markers for herpes.
The herpes antibodies show up between 2 weeks-4 months after exposure to the virus, with most people getting a reliable test result at 3 months. Wait a couple of more weeks then take the IgG type-specific herpes test. It will tell you which TYPE of herpes you have--either he transmitted oral herpes that had infected his genitals via oral sex (HSV-1) OR he has infected you with HSV-2 (genital herpes). The "type" is good information for you to know going forward.
Many men are asymptomatic carriers of the disease--and he may be unaware that he has it. IF he would get tested, it would help speed your diagnosis. If he won't, then you will have to get your own test to discover if you are, in fact, infected.
In the meantime, check out the sources I'm providing for you. You will find a site with a ready support group with an anonymous message board where you can ask questions from others with herpes--AND a Herpes Handbook from the Westover Heights (STD) Clinic that will answer your questions. They are NOT SPAM!
Good luck!

To add to what Garry said, Valtrex runs about $250 a month, the generic is abut $15 for 3 pills. Acyclovir runs $4 a month at a "Big Box" store or some pharmacies. If money is an issue, you need to know that up front.

It does sound like herpes prodrome symptoms which are what you get before an outbreak. You can have the prodome symptoms and not have an outbreak, depending on how well your immune system is fighting it. Ask your doctor if he did a herpes titer test. That's the blood test for herpes. If he did a VDRL test it is only for other STDs and herpes is not included. If you are only getting the prodome symptoms then natural immune system booster, herbal remedies that have antiviral qualities can be beneficial to you, because there are no cures for herpes, only treatment to lessen the reproduction of the virus and suppress it. Acyclovir is the doctors' treatment of choice for quick relief from an outbreak. If you have frequent outbreaks and in a relationship with an uninfected partner then valtrex one a day suppressive therapy is the doctors' choice. Valtrex is a more concentrated form of acyclovir and is much cheaper in its gereric form called valacyclovir. Both valtrex and valacyclovir are very expensive. Other than that, antiviral herbal remidies that won't harm you can help. These include, lysine, olive leaf extract, echinacea, lauricidin (monalaurin), etc.

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.
Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

So what exactly happens on the very first herpes outbreak? The herpes rash would be a cluster of some vesicles on some red base. In the moist areas of the body such as the vagina, the herpes virus can cause some ulcerations instead of some blisters. For the female herpes victims, the very first outbreak of the genital herpes can happen on the victim’s thighs, buttocks, anus, urethra, vagina, cervix or vulva. On the other hand, the male victims will have their first herpes outbreak on the very tip of their penises or their shafts and it would be a rare case if a male will have an outbreak around his private part’s base. Those men who engage sex with other men can also have blisters around or in the anus. The male rash is mild most of the times --- with only around 6-10 blisters. These blisters in both men and women are usually very painful and would usually contain a very large number of the viral particles. With this given fact, it would mean that these blisters are very much contagious.
There would be around 79% of the herpes victims that would develop the first outbreak which will resolve within a week’s time. the common general herpes symptoms will include some swollen lymph nodes, muscle aches, fatigue, fever up to a hundred and two degrees as well as headache.
Sad to say, it is the women who are four times the more likely to be targeted by the HSV-2 infection than the men. Women would have the greater number of severe diseases as well as more complications on the time of the infection compared to the men. Once a particular woman contracts a particular herpes outbreak in her vagina or her cervix or some internal parts, this female victim can develop some terrible vaginal discharge, some burning feel while urinating or a pelvic pain. Furthermore, with this first herpes outbreak, a number of female victims would get a second round of the blisters or the ulcers on the second week of the infection.
This very first herpes outbreak can last up to 2-3 weeks, however the skin pain of the victim can last up to six weeks. The common blisters of the infection would dry out and then crust over. When the time comes that the crusts will fall off, the infected area becomes not contagious any longer. There can be available evidence which projects that other people possess low levels of the present herpes virus even though they won’t have obvious symptoms.
All in all, the herpes disease is one that should not be taken for granted. Once you feel that something terrible is happening to your body, that which involves the herpes virus, it would be best to go get yourself an anonymous herpes testing. This way, you may stop the worse from happening as well as ensuring your confidentiality. There are private clinics who can do this job, so better visit one immediately. Remember, issues that involve STD or the sexually transmitted disease must not be ignored.
Herpes Outbreak --- the very first herpes outbreak is usually the worst and very painful symptom compared to its recurrences. Find out what happens in this first outbreak and what should be done.

Symptoms of herpes usually develop within 2 to 20 days after contact with the virus, although it could take longer. These symptoms may last up to several weeks, varying from one person to the next. In many people, the first infection is so mild that it goes unnoticed. It is possible that a person becomes aware of the “first episode” years after the infection is acquired. Many people infected with HSV are not aware of their infection.
The virus starts to multiply when it gets into the skin cells. The skin becomes red and sensitive, and soon afterward, one or more blisters or bumps appear. The blisters first open, and then heal as new skin tissue forms. During a first outbreak, the area is usually painful and may itch, burn or tingle. Flu-like symptoms are also common. These include swollen glands, headache, muscle ache or fever. Herpes may also infect the urethra, and urinating may cause a burning sensation.

Usually bumps and redness in the vagina is a sign. And if it keeps coming and going then you might think its ok or something. But best thing to do is get it checked out before it becomes bad and it will take a while to recover. Genital herpes symptoms come and go. Best thing to do would be make an appointment! Hope everything is ok!
These are symptoms and information about herpes.
Hope this helps!
