Does my 2 year old understand she is going to have a brother soon?

I tell my 2 year old daughter that mommy is going to have a baby or I'll ref-raise and say your going to have a baby brother soon. I am not sure if she understands. I have even shown her the ultrasound picture of the baby and I would tell her that it's her baby brother and she will say baby. Does she understand??

Not completely. I remember when my oldest who has high-functioning autism kept ignoring all my attempts to get him to understand there was a baby coming (he was around 2 1/2). After many attempts, one day I said again, "There's a baby in mommy's tummy." He looked up at me, rolled his eyes, and I could just see him saying in his mind, "You're crazy!" But he soon wanted to give the baby kisses through my tummy.

Can I offer a suggestion for her first introduction to her new brother? My niece was a little younger than your daughter, but even with all the prep, and her apparent excitement to have a new baby, the moment she walked into the room and saw her mom holding a baby in her arms after leaving her at Grandma's overnight, she turned right around and left the room. She wouldn't come back in for nearly 20 minutes. So, since then, all the rest of us have had the baby in the crib in the hospital room so we could first welcome the older ones and let them know we missed them. After a few minutes with them, then we've said, "Do you want to see your new baby?" This has helped a lot. We've also had fun buying each older sibling a mylar balloon for them "from" the baby.

Best wishes and congratulations! I hope your labor will be smooth and quick.

Probobley not. She will understand more, once he is finally here. at that age its quite difficult for one to understand there is a living being inside mommy's tummy.

my son is 2.5 he seems like he understands and I am not even noticeably showing yet. Get a book called "I'm a big sister" it will help her understand

Yes. Two year olds understand more than you think.

    Congrats.

No, she is two. She is not going to understand the situation until it arrives, you will just have to be ready for that.
