AHH! Just got back from my first job interview! What do you think my chances will be?

OK, I'm 16, this is my first job, and I got a job interview at Wendys.

I wore: Nice grey skinny jeans, nice black and white flannel top, small fake pearl earrings, silver necklace, somewhat ratty converse shoes (I didn't have anything else, they gave me 40 minutes warning on the interview)

and it was only about 10 minutes long, he asked if I could stay until 10:30, I said yes, and he said he wanted me to be a cashier. I tried to smile, and stood up straight, which made me feel awkward because I was significantly taller than him.. but he told me i didnt have to be nervous (i was bouncing my leg up and down.. bad habit) and he kept asking what I would do if someone said something behind my back or got angry with me.. and I didn't have a good answer to that.. I said I don't get angry, i don't yell or get in fights, its not really my nature.. but i didn't have an answer to what i would do. he asked for an instance when i've gone out of my way to help someone without them asking, i said i volunteer at an animal shelter, and that i loved it.. but was careful to say whenever I have free time.. and he asked lots of questions about the animal shelter. He asked if I was in any clubs, I said an Environmental club at school, he asked what my position was, I said new member.. and he clearly wasn't impressed by that but still asked what we did.

while i was interviewing some teenage guys.. in ratty jeans and tee shirts.. school clothes came in and asked if they were hiring, and the other guy working there came over to us and asked my interview if he was still hiring.. and he looked at me and said "I still have a few positions to fill, just give them the application" but that was maybe 3 minutes in...

then at the end he said "well thank you for coming in today, I think you would make a great edition to this team, and I'll pass this on to Ray (IDK who that is) and he'd be calling me"

so it sounds like i have a second interview coming up.. and he suggested that i memorize prices and sandwiches just so i am well informed as an order taker.. which i can find online and make flashcards and memorize for the next interview..

but based on this how do you guys think it went? do i have a chance at a job? god im still shaking!!

Don't worry about it! If the guy tells you to study the menu or prices, there is really nothing harm to do it before 2nd interview.

Be prepared and you may get the job. If not, don't be sad, there will be other opportunities for you. It's life. Ups and downs.

You are young and already thinking about saving money for college. It tells me that you are mature enough and want something better than what you have.

You keep going and going strong, ok man? I do hope you get it!

Money is not your objective right now. Minimum wage is fine (of course more is better), but the real objective you want to achieve is working experience. If you start building your skills (and resume) by the time you finish high school, you'll probably have more experience comparing to those classmates who don't work at all.

For example, if you and your classmates apply for the same position, which one is likely to get the job? Common sense kicks in, right?

whilst I was once pregnant for my daughter again in 1979, I were on unemployment for nearly a 12 months, whilst I went for a workplace seek advice from on the unemployment workplace, the employee there noticed that I was once pregnant and she or he informed me that a girl does no longer get unemployment for pregnancy, I informed her that the unemployment was once because of a role loss earlier than I grew to be pregnant. She mentioned that pregnant girl can paintings considering there was once a regulation pointing out that they are able to paintings. I requested what jobs had been to be had and she or he mentioned jobs that don't require lifting of heavy gadgets or an excessive amount of jogging or going for walks. That was once in Connecticut. Now, in those instances, given that girl wish to do as they please, good all jobs are open to pregnant girl. If an corporation does no longer rent you because of being pregnant, then you'll move to the State Employment company of your state and inform them approximately this. Those who don't rent you'll get in drawback. You see, there are lots of jobs open. Now, there may be one aspect to don't forget. If you're in complicated phases of being pregnant like eight or nine months, then they won't rent you considering a while is comming as much as deliver beginning. If you're in complicated phases, then you can also must wait. This is for the wellness of you and your little one. But nonetheless, there are jobs corresponding to, secretary, workplace employee, behing the counter in a cafe as cashier, a earnings character at a shop at the back of the counter or any task that doesn't require heavy lifting. Now the State Department of Labor can get you a role that's effortless to manage and with this no person can deny you the task. The Department of Labor my requiere you to take an examination to look what number of months you quite are in order that they my get the task that's correct for you. But with the legislation at present, no person can flip you down. Here in which I reside there are even pregnant police girl at the streets. They had been maternity uniforms and so they convey specific shoulder handbags for the gun. Some are defense guards, however paintings day shifts most effective in which very little jogging is requiered. So to be certain, determine with the State Labor Dept. as quickly as viable. Best of Luck

    No offense but:

why would they hire you? a 16 year old citizen who wants to work for $8/hr and be responsible enough to save enough money for college.

when they can hire ten illegal Mexicans who will work for $5.15 an hour for the rest of their lives? No workers comp, no complaints, no lawsuits, no risks.

Everything aside, it sounds like you've been hired. Enjoy it until Jose takes your position.
