Can't wake up to my alarm......?

I need some real help. I can't wake up to my alarm....... My alarm clock is very load and it looks like a mini ghetto blaster. I have it very load and I can not hear it when I am sleeping and not able to wake up to it. My dad has to yell at me every morning to get me up, with my alarm blaring. Even that can take a while.

I am starting to get in trouble at work I now have a 90 day probation/discipline period, where I can not be late. I do not know what to do or if I should go to a sleep clinic for help. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated

Update:

I am not tired or falling a sleep in the day, as soon as I have time to wake up I am fine. I go to bed around 11:00 when I start at 7:45 AM sometimes later if I have to work later like 10:30 AM. I do how ever have truble sleeping sometimes at night.

Update 2:

No not my hearing either because I do not hear my alarm, but as soon as I get woken up. My alarm is way to loud. I have to cover my ears just to turn it off. I can hear real good when I am a wake

Update 3:

Thanks for the help so far all interesting answers.

I have tried Buzz and raido and change it up but still dose not wake me up. Also from what I have heard I do not snore but who knows....lol

If you are in bed long enough but not getting rested, then you should be evaluated for a sleep disorder.

Are you falling asleep or nodding off during the day? Are you staying up late?

Get a different alarm clock -- Not music -- You have become accustomed to the sound - and it doesn't register anymore -- a different sound - like a shrill buzzer will register --

Also - if you can - you need to try to go to sleep 30 minutes earlier - and try taking a half of a Tylenol PM - it will help you fall asleep faster -- but you need 7+ hours to get it out of your system -

If it continues - or if you snore - you might want to be seen by a sleep clinic -

you need more sleep, and you need better quality sleep.

Your brain can sense sound and light while you are asleep. This causes dozens of little interruptions in your sleep cycle during the night that cause you to have bad quality sleep.

    1. sleep in a pitch black and ABSOLUTELY QUIET room. No tv. no nightlight. no falling asleep with music on.

    2. wear earplugs. seems contradictory because youre trying to wake up to an alarm. But youll still be able to hear the alarm. And youll probably start waking up to it because your body will have completed your nightly sleep cycle.

Why don't you try the hearing clinic first to see if you are losing your hearing first before going to the sleep clinic..some hearing places can give you a free hearing check to see if you need a hearing aid..don't be ashamed to go to one lots of people are losing their hearings nowadays..
