I've been reading questions about trolls on this website, what is a troll?

A troll, is a person who is here just to annoy other users and to cause as much upset as they can and looking for ways to do this is called trolling..

Trolls are usually sad, lonely folks, with few social skills.

Sometimes it is just sad thirteen year olds loose on Mom's computer.

Trolls rarely get beyond level 1 or 2 because they get reported and suspended

Someone that reports valid violations is NOT A TROLL

Trolls need attention to survive so ignoring them is best as they will starve to death.

Trolls will answer with what they think is a funny witty answer and in reality it is silly and stupid but other trolls do find it funny.

They will sometimes post their own questions and use offensive language and post racist and inflammatory questions just to insult other users, harass them or make fun of them and try to provoke a response from a person so they can report them.

Trolls will stalk a user that they don't like or one that has gotten them angry, it is better to keep your q&a's private so they have no access and can't report all your Q&A's.

They will report every post they feel like reporting, just because they can.

Trolls hate Top Contributors

There are trolls that just send nasty messages to users using email.

Some have multiple accounts to give themselves best answers for points which is indicative of how pathetic they really are, but they can't get them any other way.

There are trolls that just post links to their questions.in others questions.

Trolls will give Thumbs Down to all the answers on some questions for fun.

Some trolls copy and paste other users answers on a regular basis -but they do get reported. :

There are trolls that steal others name and profile image and post bad comments/questions/answers using that persons name.

Internet trolls are people who create problems for others on different sites while contributing nothing positive. There are many on Yahoo Answers, they report extremely small violations, which in many cases aren't even violations; they also give "thumbs down" constantly often with no valid reason. Because of trolls, to protect yourself, if you haven't done so already, you may find it best to edit your info to keep your questions and answers hidden that makes it tougher them to stalk you around the site. You can also change your avatar and i.d.or post in other than your usual categories. Trolls often hang out at controversial sections such as religion, homosexuality and polls, when someone posts what they disagree with, they report them.

Someone who posts a question/answer not because they care, but because they are simply goofing off and looking for a reaction. On my other account, I was a terrible troll. It was freaking hilarious.

Trolls are people who post absurd, time wasting things on the site. You can expect one of their questions to say something like "Im bEinG eat By WHITE TIGGGER!! what i do??"

They're really quite annoying.

Someone who asks a really dumb question, or one just intended to provoke.
