How to QT live plants?

I just bought a bunch of plants from a person who had them in their own personal aquarium. Because of this, I am weary of adding them to the tank without qting them first. Some people have said they use bleach to kill off any nasties but the plants don't always fare well. Then some people use PP, but I don't have the extra cash to buy that yet. The third option was HP. I already have it but don't know the dosage to treat the plants and not harm them.

Anyone know the dosage? Or have any other suggestions?

Thanks.

the worst thing you can get from buying freshwater live plants is snails and copepods. snails and copepods are harmless to all fish and invertebrates. do not add bleach or salt to plants as it would kill them, salt only works for fish but in tiny tiny doses, to get rid of diseases. for bleach, bleach will kill everything in your aquarium if you use it. bleach is used to clean aquarium before adding water. snails are good for your aquarium i dont know why you wouldn't want them. if you do have an snail outgrow just simply pick them out and put them in a pond or lake nearby.

personally, i would just rinse/dip them and eyeball for anything out of the ordinary. you can also ask the previous owner if hes ever had any outbreaks or diseases. really im not sure what your looking for anyways, getting them from an aquarium like that is safer than buying at any fish store. and most diseases like ich are already in your tank anyways, there just dormant, and they dont get passed by plants they are in the water, so just rinse them and youll be fine.
