Nightcrawler, Wolverine and Colossus are the most interesting personalities and generally most effective. I liked how they got along. Shadowcat was a good influence with them, too.

Storm had a good motherly quality and plenty of her own troubles to mature her character.

I liked the relationship Rogue and Dazzler had for awhile (around 220-225, I think). Adversarial, growing to respectful, even appreciative. They each had interesting personalities too, realistically portrayed.

Since Magneto was an X-Man for awhile, and did genuinely try, despite his passions and prejudices, he'd have to be on any list like this.

Professor X, for his intentions of putting the group together in the first place. He's a good role model, peace-maker.

Marvel Girl just for the Phoenix thing. The moon fight over that was the best I've seen in X-Men.

I think that's the end of my favorites. That's from when they seemed most like a family to me.

I don't much care for the first group - Cyclops, Beast, Angel, Ice Man and Marvel Girl. They bored me. Characters weren't very involving.

The newer ones like Gambit, Bishop, Jubilee, and Psylocke's ninja persona seem too pretentious and superficial, even for superheroes. It was when they took over that I stopped reading it and comics in general.

Dude wtf, there's only like 10 to 15 X-men total anyways (not counting villains). The original X-men team is only 5 members.
