I had an epidural yesterday with twilight anesthesia.....?
I had to have a d&c yesterday because I had a m/c and I had the option of general anesthesia or an epidural with a twilight anesthesia, well ever since the epidural wore off I have had severe lower back pain, on a scale of 1-10 1 being no pain, 10 being the worst pain I have felt I would give it a 7-8. I called the doctor and they said if it still hurts this bad tomorrow to go back to the hospital and have it checked out. I had an epidural when I was in labor with my son 4 years ago but don't remember any pain afterward. I guess what I want to know is, is it normal for this kind of pain? The doctor told me to talk over the counter Motrin for pain and obviously that is doing NOTHING!!!! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I really feel your loss x
an epidural can cause you alot more pain the next time you have it
your body remembers it and remembers what it went through
also some anesthetists can hit a wrong nerve and can cause more pain - they are trained but can just hit different parts than others can
it is not something to worry about at the moment - only if it continues into the next few month and beyond 6 months
Please do go back and see your doctor if it continues ok x or if its really bad call the emergencies services
take what you can right now as to pain relief and see how you go x
I do have all my love with you x

Well, to start with you don't HAVE to have a repeat cesarean. You can stick with this physician-it doesn't matter what he needs, they are not able to do some thing to you with out your consent so you'll easily refuse a cesarean in case you wish or you'll discover one more physician that's extra open to a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean). That stated, my first chlid was once born through emergency cesarean segment. I was once beneath regular anesthesia. I overlooked listening to her first cries, and it took longer earlier than I might have her in my fingers. Also, sure-this regularly crosses over and motives the little one to be born sleepy which might turn out to be with a NICU keep for tracking. My moment chlid was once born through a victorious VBAC (with out agony drugs). With my 3rd youngster, we expected one more VBAC, however she, too, was once born through emergency cesarean. This time, I had a spinal alternatively than regular anesthesia. I do particularly endorse the spinal! I was once very alert for the duration of the supply, and was once keeping and nursing her inside part an hour. If you're having a deliberate cesarean, I don't even suppose they are going to use regular anesthesia. It is in general reserved for while there is not any time to manage an epidural or spinal. Obviously, whether it is deliberate there shall be time so the regular would no longer also be an alternative for you. I want you the exceptional!
