I am saling my car. What should I watch for?

This is my first car I am saling on my car. I don't know want I should watch out for if someone wants to buy it. I don't want it to be a scam or anything

I have a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu it a silver 4 door. It need a lot of fixing to be done. We are going to sale it for 1 thousand dollars. When I bought it already had broken gas Gauge. The car dealership never told me about that. That one of the problem. Other problems are broken window. It down but won't stay up. We got it tape up for now. It needs new head gasket and anti freeze tank. And I think the sensor are bad.

If some one interested should I tell them all about the problems. It will get you to point a to point B.

Also if they want to test the car do I have the right to ask to see their driver License. I want to make sure because of insurance puproses.

I am going to see my car insurance and ask them some questions. That if I am saling my car and someone else is test driving it and I am in the car with them and some how there a car accident will insurance pay for it.

Thanks

Update:

This was my first car I paid off. But I am tired of problems. And I need a van anyways because my kids are tight back there and I have a boyfriend that has a daughter. We need more room. But I will be happy if this car is gone and I sold it.

don't take a check, beyond that no one can really scam you out of the car, if you are worried about how to go about getting the money and giving them the title, have them meet you at a local bank lobby, and do the transaction right there, give them the title take your money. selling cars is on of those things, sometimes its a real pain in the butt, other times the first guy who looks at it buys it. I can tell you from experience that anyone who calls you and is really interested in the car, will want to come out right away, THIS IS THE PERSON WHO HAS MONEY IN THEIR POCKET, so try to let them come look at it as soon as you can, even if it interferes with your plans for a couple of hours, its worth it if they buy it best of luck, clean it up as best you can inside and out, that always helps a lot.

You "sail" a boat, you "sell" a car. You need to enlist the help of a friend who knows how to guide you through the selling process. If you don't, you stand to have problems. I am not saying you will be scammed but you need to know what you are required to disclose about the car and how to properly protect yourself after the sale. This is why you need to sit down with a car savvy friend who has gone through this process. We can make tips here but you will have other questions regarding your particular situation. Good luck on the sale.

Chances are they only choice with this car is to sell it for parts. In any case, always sell locally and take only cash. If you post in usual places, scammers will try to get you with shipping scam. They will tell you that they want a car and immediately agree to your price. Then they will send you fake check with much larger amount than you requested. They will ask you to send remaining money to "shipping company" by wire. Of cause there is no shipping company and your money will be gone.

Expect Cash, but usually its Buyer's Beware

also make sure to say its a FIRM price cause people will try to negotiate to 900 or less

I THINK YOU LOVE TOO MUCH YOUR CAR , BUT YOU CAN SALE YOUR CAR TO GIVE ADVERTISING IN NEWSPAPER AND TELL YOUR TERMS AND CONDITION
