Thinking About Getting a Tattoo in the Future?

I'm kinda young, so it's no big deal, but i'm curious about pain. I've always wanted to get a bird on my right shoulder blade, so what would the pain factor be? from a 1-10 scale.

this is similar to what i was thinking..

18 is legal age in North America to get a tattoo by your self. If you're under age a good artist should not tattoo you. You're going to feel some pain any where you decide to put it. My first shoulder tattoo was about a 6 or 7 out of 10, my other shoulder tattoo was about 4 or 5 out of 10. It depends on your level of pain tolerance. Some people don't feel the needles as much as other people because they have a higher level of pain tolerance. Just concentrate on your breathing and don't tense up when they are doing the tattoo.

the most painful places are areas where there is not a lot of fat or muscle between the skin and the bone, I don't have any tattoos yet, but I have heard and seen others get tattoos, so the pain might be high in the shoulder. I also looked up a website too for more to add. You just have to be tough when you decide to get one. I'm sure most people have the same amount of pain also.

i think thats really nice. i think that the more artsy tattoos are best because its not really something you can grow out of like a boyfriend or a football team, its just a peice of art. about the pain, ive heard from a lot of people the closer to the bone you get a tattoo the more it hurts. but its all about the person. and most people dont even remember the pain, so it cant be that bad. ive never gotten one on a bony area and mine didnt hurt, but if your scared go to a nice artist. make sure its ok to bring a friend and have an artist that will be patient if you need a break or get nervous. but itll only hurt while your getting it. after, youll just have a gorgeous tattoo! also the people trying to talk you out of it are probably no fun assholes. dont listen to them. tattoos are really common now and the only people who still judge others who have tattoos are uppity snobs you dont wanna talk to any way, lol. and if you ever did wanna cover it up itd be real easily done on your shoulder!

Big tattoos in visible areas can honestly hinder or scale back your possibilities of being employed. I believe that tattoo could be best since it would not ever be viewed offensive, it's sensible, and it's not in an highly visible position. I believe that could be best so long as you simply have one for your wrist and it's in simple script and no longer too huge. I wish you are getting it at the underside of your wrist since the ones tattoos most of the time seem pleasant! Good Luck

YES tattoos hurt, usually when they arent on fatty places (like the outer side of the shoulder or arm) they hurt more. two things about that though:

    1. you can get skin numbing cream before the tattoo, something i had to do for my lower leg since it was the most excruciating pain ive ever felt. it only last about an 30 min.but its better than nothing.

    2. an hour of pain is worth a lifetime of enjoyment. ive gotten lots of tattoos and in the long run the pain was always worth it.

Beautiful bird but wouldn't you want a painting of it so you can see it and not crane your neck to look at it. Not tried to be mean but it is a HUGE mistake to get a tattoo. My best friend mom got hers when she was 20 because everyone thought it was cool but newsflash, she said it hurt like hell. She regrets getting it so much and she said she would do anything to take it off. Remember its for life. One mistake is all it takes for you to be trying to cover it up on a date (unless you date a punk or bad boy *not a good idea unless you want to get dumped*)

Anyway tattoo are also beautiful. Not many guys like it when they get over 25 or 30 but lots of men under 25 like them.

Tattoos aren't that bad but my old teacher had one of a hawk on her upper arm and i lost a lot of respect to her...Still i like her positive attitude.

I never had a tattoo before but so many people tell me that its 10/10 some say 9/10 others say 20/10 so i guess its up to if you like needles if you want.

Don't anyone's answers influence you (even mine) but think a whole lot before you come to an answer. Hope this helped.

Everyone has a different pain tolerance so there really is no saying. I don't think it would hurt too too bad but ya never know. I do know it hurts on the bony areas. I got tattoo's down my ribcage and that hurt like a *****

Doesn't hurt it just feels like if you were to grab a blade and run it back and forth when they are doing the outline and when they are shading just imagine 4 blades doing the same kinda feels good =X..

just make sure you get a tattoo you won't regret!

hopefully you will wise up as you get older and change your mind. i heard the shoulder blade is one of the places that hurt the most. a bird...really? if your getting a tattoo make sure its symbolic and close to your heart because you might regret it as you get older. also consider how trashy it would make you look

    could you answer mine, please?
