I know you're not supposed to put too much cream on new tattoos but...?

I have a few tattoos and can't really remember how much cream I was putting on when I got them. I just got a full thigh piece which is obviously very tender. I know you're not supposed to put on much cream but because it's too tender to really rub it in properly will it affect it by putting on a fair bit until I can actually touch it enough to rub it in. Don't answer if you don't know what you're on about.

If you put too much on, it will suffocate the tattoo and not heal properly.

I use Rocco's Old School Tattoo Balm on all of my old and new tattoo's.

It works great. Heals my new tattoo's nicely, keeps them moisturized and protected.

And still lets air pass through unlike Vaseline. Also makes my old tattoo's look new

Not cream - too thick, .. you want lotion.

No dye no scent lotion, like Lubriderm or Curel - apply a light coat after washing with antibacterial liquid soap with clean fingers, pat dry with clean paper towels, apply lotion, pat off any seepage/ink transfer whenever you see it to avoid scabbing.

You need to do this aftercare 3 - 5Xs a day.

Here's an excellent video on current aftercare:

    luck~

Bite the bullet and rub it all the way in, it may hurt, but it won't hurt as bad as getting it tattooed. And if you don't rub it in and it gets ruined, you'll have to get it re-done and rub the new lotion in all the way anyway. So may as well start now :)

thin layer!! you don't want to clog it.....if you're worried there's too much on it, dab a bit off gently with a clean paper towel (that's what I usually do)
