My mac says that I don't have admin access, but I do.?
I have a macbook, using OSX 10.5.8. I tried to download a game demo, and a pop up told me that I need admin access to download a game. I am the only user on this computer, and I am an admin (I re-checked, and it says "admin" underneath my account name). I have never had a problem downloading games before, and I don't know why this is suddenly happening. I know that some people lost their access when they upgraded to Leopard, but I've had Leopard for over a year, and this has never happened before. Why do I get this message, and how can I fix it?
P.S.
Could it have anything to do with the fact that I recently moved/have a different internet connection?
Thank you.
It never asked me for a name and password. It just informed me that I "need admin access to download," and only gave me the option to click "okay." I unlocked some things in my preferences to check, and I could enter a name and password there, and it worked/recognized me as an administrator. So it's just the internet.
If it helps, the demo was from BigFishGames (which I've used countless times before). Could something for that sight have changed? From the wording of the pop up, it seems like it's my computer (not the site), but I'll take any suggestions at this point.
Thanks again.

No, that's not right...
Even if you were signed into a limited OSX account you should be able to download files.
Installing apps capable of affecting the System would hit a stone wall, and require the Admin password.
Wait. Some websites require a sign-in process for FTP downloads.
Could that be it ?
You clicked the download link and a dialog box came up requiring a name and password, right?
That's not your Mac asking, it's the website.

I'm not entirely sure how you could actually be stopped from downloading something...I've never heard of that before, so it probably does have something to do with your internet connection. However, it wouldn't hurt to repair disk permissions using Disk Utility, that does tend to fix some strange problems.
