You would use "better" because you are comparing two items. You would use "best" as the superlative when describing a set of items.

The first answer is absolutely correct. It's simple. You are comparing two items...which one is better? If you are comparing three or more items...which one is best?

In grammer it is the comparative vs the superlative form of the adjectives.

    Much luck!

We chose the BEST of the two. If you read the other one We chose the BETTER of the two. It doesn't sound right. So it's BEST.
