Japanese Jiujitsu (most not all) = 2-3

this is considering u train like 4-5 times a week.

Japanese Jiujitsu uses fast, deadly, breaks, throws, joint locks and more. It's from a battlefield art where you have to disable or kill your opponent as quickly as possible.

BJJ is a sport derrivative of Judo that focuses mainly on newaza (ground techniques) but lacks good ways of bringing the opponent to the ground.

In a sport fight BJJ would win because that's what it's meant for. In real life japanese jiujitsu wins because your objective is to break your opponent as fast as possible.

Also BJJ is bad against weapons, try grappling someone with a knife. Japanese jiujitsu will use eye gouging, joint breaking and whatever it has to to win.

In reality there is nothing typical in regards to time in learning any martial art. Time is not important. Knowledge and the ability to apply the knowledge is what matters. Everyone leans at different rates. No 2 persons learn at the same speeds. It is great that we are individuals. We are unique.

There are a lot of schools handing out black belts today. Many of those that wear the belt should not have the belt. At one time most people that began training never received a black belt. Today there are many with a black belt that haven't earned it. They paid for it but didn't earn it. The focus should not be on rank or a belt. It should be on obtaining enough knowledge and skill that you cold successful defend yourself if you have to do so. Many want the belt so that they can open a school and what they think is make a lot of money. They need a reality check. The focus should be on passing down this knowledge to someone else instead of making money.

There is nothing wrong with making money or earning a living. But in most cases if you are going to teac the art as it was meant to be taught you are not going to make it rich.

depends on how much u want to pay is my guess ;). no, but seriously u cant get much done going to training twice a week ur gona have to up the anti if u plan on getting those black belts, i trained modestly for muay thai kickboxing, and bjj over these last 4 summer month of my vacation and that still included at least going to the dojo 5-6 times a week and some times twice a day once in the morning and once at night... and i still think that was not enough, a black belt is not easily earned, unless ur rich and can just buy if from Grand Master McHicks u will need to attend class more

A black belt in any art should never be awarded based on time. I know many guys that are serious martial artists, and have trained for 10-15 years, that simply are not at that level. There is nothing wrong with what they study. They just have never developed their skills to that level. A black belt should be awarded only to someone that has the physical skills, knowledge and understanding of their art that is equal to or greater than what a black belt represents. Any martial art that is based only on memorizing and walking through techniques or forms only is not at that level.

It doesnt matter.....................what matters is how much u know.............to become a legit black belt it takes around 8-10 years in basically any martial art but u must remember not to concentrate on becoming a black belt but to concentrate on learning as much as u can.........
