  • So popularly speaking, which breed is the best guard dog?

I have seen several tv shows or documentals about dogs that the Doberman Pinscher is the second best guard dog. So I know there are many factors besides simply the dog breed that can define a guard dog but,if traditionally or popularly it is said that doberman is the second best, which would be the best?

  • Do you prefer to teach the escape or counter or how to apply/put somebody on a hold?

Not specifically in mma or tma for competition, frading or goinng up in belts in grades. For example let´s say that you are giving are self defense course not centered in a particular system but self defense moves or even in the styles you teach, do you prefer or what is more important for you to teach, how to put somedy on a choke or getting out of the choke? Do a hold or pinning somebody or getting out of that hold/pin? I know the defense and application are both things that should not be put apart, but if you are not a grappling oriented system practitioner you are not likely to defend by taking somebody into a rear naked choke(even though this could be a move that you would be using for your self defense),so would you start by teaching how to attack and neutralize in self defense or do you rather start teaching how to escape certain agressions and run for it.

P.S Running away can be a fantastic self defense move in certain situations but the questions goes more like for some agression that comes suddenly and completely unexpected, you could break the hold and then run.

  • I have a Doberman mix but I would like to know if ?

I got a female doberman mix from a shelter and now she is almost 11 months old. As for her size she is 23 .5 inches tall at the withers and weighs 60 pounds, I know she is not getting any bigger or heavier at this point but I would like to ask the following : I did not get to see any of the parents since I got her from shelter but the vet told me that she is a dobie mix. If the dog is seen you can see her she looks exactly like a doberman only smaller (as I stated before she is 23.5 inches at the withers and weighs 60 pounds in comparison to a purebred female dobie which I have heard that are like 25 inches tall at the withers and 75 pounds in weigh), so my question would be that if she had puppies with a purebred male dobie, what are the chances that the offsprings could be more doberman like in structure and appearance. Is it posible that the offsprings of her offsprings will get closer to what a doberman looks like if they get crossed with purebred dobermans?

P.D I am not trying to go into selling puppies or anything because for starters I do no know anything about breeding dogs.

He started to take techniques that he thought were not useful or that did not work. what kind of techniques could those have been? I have also read that he took out the deadly or dangerous techniques to make it more useful or more efficient.

  • Does Jujutsu have many Aikido like techniques?

I've been watching videos and demos of jujutsu and it looks effective and fun,but i have also seen Aikido and it looks good.I know Aikido is a descendant from Jujutsu but it might have taken it's own path, what i would basically like to know is if in Jujutsu the techniques and movements like in Aikido can be found because it looks like it is not depending that much in striking or sheer strenght.

  • Could is still buy a winchester 1892 model and would it work well enough for home self defense?

Would it work for self protection if i lived or vacationed in the woods or outdoors where i could find mountain lions or bears? I would also appreciate suggestions on semiautomatic rifles that doesn't need manual loading like bolt action?

  • WHAT IS WITH THESE GUYS?

my question has no intentions of attacking any discipline or their practitioners but from what i have seen the taekwondo practitioners are really cocky and brag about how their discipline is the best, and are pretty much the ones get the worst part on the streets or when facing other martial artists.it is not that other ma practitioners never do it but i have seen that behavior in larger scale in taekwondo practitioners.

  • WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN AN INSTRUCTOR?

once it happened to me that i was receiving martial arts classes with a very good licensed and credited instructor.the thing with this was that at first he was very meticulous about teaching and he tried to develop the natural abilities in his students.some time later he was only paying attention to the students who were winning at tournaments.the ones that did not compete or did not do good at tournaments were left out of the attention of the instructor.he only payed a little attention and left some routines or drills to the other ones, sometimes katas but only went to see them to tell them they were doing it wrong,he did not took the time to teach Kata, only did it once and then he left them there.he also used the other guys for demonstrating techniques so the prize pupils and black belts did not get hurt.he did not treat them bad in other ways but he did neglected them.the thing about it is that i think he should at least have been honest with them and tell them that there was no room for them, because he was charging for the lessons anyway.

  • SHOULD BLACK BELTS ALWAYS BE IN SEPARATE SESSIONS AND CLASSES?

from what i have seen in traditional martial arts schools that the black belts always train in different and separate sessions.the bad thing about this is to create to much mysticism about the black belt level abilities, but on the other hand there are beginners that might make slower the black belt training.what do you think?
