Will I lose weight with 1200 calories per day and a 30 minute workout daily?

MY workout is on the treadmill and I burn about 250 calories in 30 minutes.

I am a female, 5'1, 32 years old, 136 pounds and I would like to eat 1200 calories per day (5-6 small meals) to lose weight.

    If that is the routine that you have worked out to be most suitable for yourself then go for it! It should work for you but remember to eat a balanced diet and watch saturated fats in foods. The easiest guide to stick to is don't eat anything with more than 5% fat. It may also be a bit more interesting to do some different exercises now and again. There are many different ways to loose weight but not every way works for everyone. So give it a go for at least 4 weeks and see how it goes. I would expect to see a loss of 1-2 pounds per week on a healthy weight loss programme. Too much loss to quick is not a good idea and is harder to keep off! If it doesn't work, don't be disheartened, review why and try a different programme. Good luck and keep focused. x

    You can calculate it yourself using my source. It helps you determine your maintenance calorie amounts, and you can use that to figure out what you need to do to lose weight. It also explains WHY this is important and why it works.

    I think 1200 calories per day is a bit low, but my source can help you figure that out for sure. That's just my raw estimate.

    As for the 250 calories in 30 minutes…I take it you are just walking? Because I’m only about 10 pounds heavier, and I burn that amount in 20 minutes. Walking is certainly a healthy way to do things :)

    Yes, you'll lose weight. Just keep in mind that 1200 isn't a lot of calories and you should never ever go UNDER 1200.

    degrease by scrubbing in the shower for 15 minutes then spend 7 minutes shaving 3 minutes toweling off 4 minutes moisturizing and 20 minutes blow drying and styling your hair

    it most certainly sounds like you will be losing weight if you stick to that plan. Eat extra healthy to make up for nutrients lost during that 30 minutes of jogging

    You know what- it doesn't hurt to eat extra fatty in the morning, but make sure the foods are otherwise healthy. this was discussed on 'The doctors'

    Drink lots of water too.
