How concerned should Americans be about illegal Mexicans not getting proper medical treatment in the U.S.?
Guanajuato, Mexico (AHN) - Mexican illegal immigrants in the United States face a higher risk of illness and death from limited access to health care, according to a new study announced this week by Mexico’s health ministry. Lack of adequate health care is likely to get worse for them as 26 American states consider legislation to crack down on illegal immigration, according to Mexican health officials.
The Mexicans also endure higher rates of drug addiction, HIV/AIDS and mental health problems when they move to the United States.
“While in Mexico addictions average 0.9 percent of the population, among Mexican migrants in the United States addictions affect 6.2 percent of members of that community, which is six times more than what is found in Mexico,” said Mexican Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos. “And regarding mental illnesses, in Mexico they affect 6.4 percent of the population and in the United States 15.4 percent of the migrants of Mexican origin.”
His figures were drawn from a study sponsored by the Mexican government in conjunction with the University of California.

I have no compassion, nor do I care. As long as one illegal is treated here, it takes away from one American getting treated. We are already absorbing the cost from the diseases these illegals are spreading by no inoculations and birthing anchor babies. And where are the pro-illegals on this fact:
The Mexicans also endure higher rates of drug addiction, HIV/AIDS and mental health problems when they move to the United States.

I hope Calderon viewed this report and realizes it is his fault. He should be encouraging his people to stay in Mexico, where they won't come to the US and contract dread diseases, develop mental illnesses or become drug addicts.
I still think this study is bull, though. We all know the illegals get the same treatment at health facilities as citizens; they shouldn't, but they do. I'll bet nowhere in this study is there a mention of the hospital closings due to illegals receiving care they don't pay for, or the women delivering their anchor babies in BIRTHING SUITES on the tax payers' dime.
Actually, this study helps to prove what so many of us know to be true- they don't come here for a better life. How is doing drugs bettering yourself?

I gotta say that understand thoroughly. i've got have been given a chum who replace into entering a convenience shop minding his own business company while an uninsured, unlicensed unlawful motorist drove into him and the shop he replace into entering. Now he might desire to to pass to the Dr. as quickly as a month to have fluid drained from his spinal twine. no person will hire him even nevertheless he's prepared to sign a workman's comp waiver with a view to artwork. insurance firms won't insure him. he's compelled to be on social protection and not even getting adequate to assist his kinfolk much less pay his loan. He could plenty somewhat be working. This state is a 'no fault' state and the guy who hit him and the shop have been given a $40 5 advantageous from a decide who stated there replace into not the rest he might desire to do.

6.4 % in Mexico have a mental illness that's very interesting.I read somewhere a few years ago that illegal aliens from Mexico have higher incidents of mental problems that are directly attributed to their being in the US.They say its from stress and problems of adjusting to life in the US as opposed to life in Mexico.I have trouble believing its from "adjusting " to America because I don't see very many that have changed anything about the way they were in their home country. Most seem to try their best to make the US just like Mexico, they make no attempt to assimilate or to bother to learn English. Why should they the liberal in the US have bent over backwards to have everything in Spanish or Mexican so why should they bother trying to learn the dominant language of the land they are in illegally. I speak English,Spanish,Cajun French and I have been trying to learn Japanese for a couple of years. Its not easy but because I spend 4 months each year in Japan on business I want to learn.I picked up Spanish as a kid from living in Texas and Arizona.
I do not want more mentally ill people roaming freely in our nation,We have enough of our own.A great many of our chronic homeless are mentally ill and when their insurance ran out or if they had none they were dumped on our streets. We need to provide for Americans first, last and always. Let other countries care for their own.
If they had entered this nation legally they would have been inspected for contagious communicable disease, but you cant Always "see" mental illness. Look at liberals and Obama, they look normal... well except maybe Reid and Nancy..

We should not be concerned if they are getting health care. What we should be concerned about is the Illegal immigrants invading our borders and demanding health care, jobs, college, and getting better quality help then American citizens. If we do nothing to stop the illegal immigrants then more will come. If there are enough of them they will slowly take over.

To provide anything other than true emergency healthcare for illegal aliens is to turn our domestic healthcare system into a system for the entire world, literally. Nothing to stop even legal foreign visitors for coming here and expecting free treatment. If illegal aliens are so worried about their health, then they should prevail upon their own consulates and their own country to provide it. Mexico is perfectly willing to provide books to educate its citizens who are in the U.S. illegally and to have traveling consulates to provide matricula consular. It even provides lawyers to help its citizens here illegally fight charges such as treaspas. Let it provide insurance, doctors and clinics out of its own pocket to treat its citizens, and let other countries do the same. As for hepatitis, you're just proving what we've been saying all along--illegal aliens spread dangerous infectious diseases. All the more reason to seal the border and deport them.

They can go get healthcare in Mexico.

We shouldn't be concerned,it isn't our responsibility to provide their citizens with health care. doesn't surprise me that those who come here are more likely to have mental health issues and be drug addicts. Sounds like wonderful candidates for amnesty.

GOOD just another reason for them to STAY IN MEXICO! I'm concerned about ME getting health care, not some dumb azz MEXICAN who shouldn't be here in the first place!

Who gives a crap, let them go home and seek treatment. Why should we have to pay for it? While mexico is spending money on studies it could have been helping it's citizens...maybe then they would stay.
