What recent movie have you regretted having watched and you advise NOT to watch? And why?

I have watched "Eat Pray Love " yesterday, and I rarely saw such a boring, lame and ludicrous movie.

2h20 of pathetic pseudo-philosophical soul "travel" of a snobbish divorced woman who believes she finds "herself" by eating pasta in Rome, talking Italian "like a parrot", having pseudo-spiritual conversations with friends in restaurants, attending a hindou temple in India like if it was "a must fashion", watching the nature in Bali, letting men court her in jet-set bars, pretending to help a poor family in Bali by philantropy (although it was for her a sort of therapy or something) etc.

Full of ridiculous clichés about India, Italy and men in general.

And it seems that the whole story was revolving around "her majesty" Julia Roberts, the camera on her 75% of the time, Oh Jesus, the director was insane or what?

If you want to find a reason to be pissed off by this actress, just go watch this film, you will be absolutely disgusted and will feel like puking after barely 30 minutes.

Plus, why does Javier Bardem appears so late, like 1h30 after the beginning?

Even Bardem didn't manage to save this movie from collapsing...

One of the crappiest movies I've ever seen, really.

Boring like hell, I almost feel asleep, and I didn't leave the theater before the end because I have some education and respect for the other spectators...

I guess, the only reason for this movie for having met an audience was the presence of Roberts and Bardem...Otherwise it wouldn't even have been financied and released..

That's the movie I don't advise to watch...2h20 of my life totally spoiled, lol

What about yours?

Thanks

Well, about Eat, Pray, Love - I wasn't going to ever watch it anyway. It looked like a regular melodrama, and from what I read in your question it's even worse than regular.

My personal dissapointment was "The Other Guys", but I deserve what I got - I knew it was a Will Ferrel/Adam McKay movie. Not a big fan of both. Anchorman was okay, Stepbrothers another okay, I liked Ricky Bobby though (Highlander got the Academy Award for the Best Movie Ever Made lol). Walhberg presented a highly neurotic person with feats, a spoof of his Dt Sgt Dignam, but poorly performed. At the same time a lot of people seem to like it, so I can't tell "Don't watch it".

"Salt". Not all that bad, but Tomb Raider's plot and the lead character were much more believable, interesting and dynamic:I mean there was action, while in Salt - movement.

I liked Predators, I don't know how it ruined The Predator at all. I thought it was an interesting perspective - to see the Predator's gym and humans as the speed bags. The first is still the best, but Predators vs Aliens and Predators still worth a watch.

I completely agree with you, because even i have seen Eat, Pray, Love recently and i really got bored while watching that movie. I just was not able to deduce the message of the movie. I also felt what could had been covered easily in 1hr 20 min, took 2hrs 30 min. It became time consumption more than entertainment. If the purpose of the movie was to enjoy life when you don't know what you want to do with your life then SORRY i don't agree with the idea. I also could not believe that such a great star cast were so under utilized.

However, another movie that i saw was Vampire's Assistant and i must say thank god it was not as long as Eat, Pray, Love. But it was not that great either.

Nine, the movie musical about Federico Fellini. It was all over the place and felt rushed. The musical performances were good, but without a well-developed storyline, it didn't give you a chance to really care about any of the characters. It's too bad, because there are some really good actors (Daniel Day-Lewis, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Kate Hudson, Sophia Loren) in this movie. Skip it, otherwise you'll only be disappointed.

Resident Evil 3D was decent but not worth going to the movies to see, first 20 min were basically the matrix redone then the storyline contradicts itself and everyone is basically on super-steroids. To make matters worse it was open ended

  • "The Man Who Knew Too Little" - Bill Murray didn't even try

"The Social Network" - Hype does not match the movie

"Get Smart's Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control" - ....

    "For Keeps"

It had Molly Ringwald in it and it was SOOOO boring! I watched it on Netflix instant play and I wanted my two hours back. It was one of those where the actors overacted and those are the worst!
