Will my netbook play Age of Empires II?

If I get an external CD drive for my netbook (acer aspireone with Windows XP home edition), I think I should be able to install Age of Empires II, right?

Well I want to make sure I meet the system requirements. I mean ,it is an old game, but I tried to play an N64 game on Project 64 and it was all slow and crappy and even the sound was slowed down. I can't play like that, i just can't.

My netbook is run on an intel atom processor. But um...I'm just going to copy and paste some system requirements and I need someone to tell me if this will work right.

Age of Empries II system requirements:

Multimedia PC with Pentium 166MHz or higher processor.

Microsoft® Windows® 95, Windows 98, Windows NT® 4.0 with Service Pack 5 operating system.

32 MB of RAM.

DirectX 6.1 or later.

90 MB of hard disk space; additional 100 MB of hard disk space for swap file.

Super VGA monitor supporting 1024x768 resolution.

Local bus video card that supports 1024x768, 256-color resolution and 2 MB of VRAM.

Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.

28.8Kbps modem (or higher recommended) for Internet* or head-to-head play.

Audio board with speakers or headphones.

To access the MSN Gaming Zone you need Internet Explorer 3.02 or later software or Netscape Communicator 4.0 or later

Intel Atom processor:

Produced 2008–present

Max. CPU clock rate 800 MHz to 2.13 GHz

FSB speeds 400 MHz to 667 MHz

Min. feature size 45 nm

Instruction set MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, x86, x86-64 (not for the N2xx and Z5xx series)

Cores 1, 2

Thanks!

I can say your specs surpass the requirements but I would be skeptical about playing it on a netbook. I can't say for sure how the game would perform on your netbook but I don't think you should expect great performance out of it so that your hopes don't fall down too low.

truthfully i think of it is going to run high-quality, yet are you incredibly confident you desire to play that interest? I reinstalled it no greater advantageous than a pair months in the past, then rapidly uninstalled it back. the sport is crammed with some exceedingly nasty gadget defects.
