  • Why is housing in Indiana so cheap?

I m looking to move from Colorado to somewhere east and found that Indiana housing is incredibly cheap and everyone seems to be selling. Can anyone tell me why? What is wrong with Indiana? Is there crime, horrible weather, bad economy, what? I have never been there but from photos it looks like a nice place to live so I don t understand. Just hoping to get a local s opinion. Thanks!

  • What should I use on carpet edge onto concrete floor.?

I am tearing out some of my carpeting in the basement, underneath is a painted concrete floor. The edge of the carpet is a bit of a trip hazard, I was wondering if there is some kind of tape I should use to hold the edge of the carpet onto the floor. Thanks!

  • I think I might have a virus (the search engine virus)?

I try to search something in google and I click on whatever link, and it's been taking me to another search engine instead of the webpage I wanted. It will take me to "monster.com" or "the searching star" or some other search engine I've never even heard of, trying to search what I typed in AGAIN. I usually hit "back" on my browser and it doesn't do it the second time, but it's really annoying.

Does anyone know what I can do about this?

I don't have any antivirus software on this computer.

(it's a windows XP 2000 if that helps)

  • Can someone please check my work for me? (Physics)?

I am giving a speech on E=mc2 and I need to make sure the calculations I did are correct. Basically, I wanted to put it in perspective on how much energy 8oz of water (approximately 0.236kg) contains if converted into pure energy using E=mc2.

I used some online converters for units and I did a bit of rounding for simplicity:

    ● Energy in 8 ounces of water:

    8 ounces = approximately 0.236 kilograms

C (speed of light) = 300,000,000 meters per second

E = mc2 Energy = mass (in kilograms) x (speed of light squared)

    E = (0.236 kg)(300,000,000 m/s)2 = 21,240,000,000,000,000 Joules

●Number of cars the above energy can lift to 1 mile (1609.344 meters)

    1 average car = 2 tons (4000 pounds) or 1814.369 kilograms

Work (in Joules) = Force x Distance Distance = 1609.344 meters

Force = mass x acceleration (in this case, acceleration of gravity, or 9.8 m/s2)

Work = mass x acceleration of gravity x Distance x number of cars

Number of cars = [Work (Energy from previous problem)] / [(1814.369kg)(9.8m/s2)(1609.344m)] = 742,256,372 cars

So basically, 8 ounces of water, if converted into pure energy, can lift 742 billion cars 1 mile off the ground? This didn't seem right, so I thought I'd ask.

    Thanks!

  • Which ovary does the egg come from?

Seriously. Women release one egg a month. But there are two ovaries. So which ovary does the egg come from? Do they alternate? Is it possible for them both to release one?

  • My right breast is swollen?

Yeah. Just the right one. It was really tender earlier this week, but not so much now. I'm due to get my period in the next couple of days.

There's a very, very slim chance i'm pregnant (but my BC is 99.1% effective + condom, so...)

My breasts usually get sore before my period, but they've never swollen. I swear, I've increased a cup size, and it's just on the right. This is so awkward.

    Any advice?

  • Where is a good place to sell graphic novels?

I have some old manga that's still in really good condition, but I'm honestly never going to read it again. I was wondering if there are websites or stores that will buy them from me. Thanks!

  • Guys--how much do you REALLY care?

About breast size? Do they have to be a minimum size for you to actually get anything out of them, or does it really matter in the heat of the moment?

Only asking cause my bf claims he loves mine, but I'm only a 34b and I feel like he's lying.

  • So...I lost my pay stub.?

I was stupid and managed to lose my paycheck stub somewhere. I have direct deposit, so it's not an actual check, but I was just wondering if anything bad could happen if a bad person found it.

It has information like my full name and address, how much I earned, how much was taken out in taxes, the last four letters of my bank account number, my employer's full address, and my year-to-date pay. Across the "check" is printed boldy "THIS IS NOT A CHECK"

So yeah...even though I lost it, can anything really bad happen to me if the wrong person gets their hands on it?

  • Magic Jack - How do I listen to messages people leave me?

We just got it, and yes, it has become our only phone line. Not my idea. I'm just trying to help make it work. When someone leaves a voicemail message when we're not around, how do we know? And how do we access it and listen to it?

  • Is it just me, or was that stupid?

Ok, so my technology-challenged mom may have made some major mistakes recently that I'm afraid have messed up all communications in and out of our house.

    1. We got a new internet provider, switched to Broadband from qwest.

    2. Purchased a "magic jack", a type of phone service that hooks into your computer and siftens phone service off your internet while you pay a much cheaper phone bill.

    3. Shut off the phones.

ok, so the third one concerns me...her intention was to eliminate (or cheapen) the phone bill. By getting this "magic jack", she thought we no longer needed a phone service...but doesn't getting rid of our phone service kind of kill the internet?..

is there a way that we can still use this magic jack and have an internet, hence, a telephone line? Or was our phone service supposed to be provided by qwest, along with our internet?

I am so confused, part of me doesn't even understand what she did exactly. All I know is the internet's not working, and neither is the phone, not even if we plug it directly into a phone line.

Can someone explain to me how this all works? (especially if you have broadband high-speed internet from qwest?) Can she shut off the phone if we get internet from qwest, or is it all one deal?

  • What is this coat called?

I want a specific kind of coat, it's usually longer, reaching to about mid thigh or closer to the knees, and it has pairs of buttons, usually bigger buttons next to each other, going up the front. I don't believe it has a hood, can anyone help me?

  • Did I have a miscarriage?

Ok so about 4 days ago I had a Paragard IUD (on the 24th) put in and I was getting the usual cramps but they weren't that bad, then the next day they were almost completely gone. I had had sex for the first time before getting it in, the day before and three days before, I used condoms, but of course nothing is 100%. The same day I got the IUD in I also took a Plan B pill. Well yesterday I was getting extremely hellish cramps, out of nowhere, and it seemed like no amount of pain killer would stop it. I started bleeding profusely, almost like my period had come early, but it wasn't as heavy of a flow. It's still kind of going today, but the bleeding is only spotting and my cramps are gone so...I don't know. I'm worried that this was possibly a miscarriage, but it seemed like too early to be an actual miscarriage, I mean, the first time I had sex was about a week ago. Were these just usual side effects of the IUD? Or maybe something gastrointestinal? (I did eat an awful lot on Thanksgiving)

    Thanks!

  • Is there any way to block email addresses?

Obviously I have a yahoo email account, and I keep getting random spam from the same places, i was wondering if there was a way I could mark these email addresses as spam, or just keep them from coming into my inbox altogether?

(I know this is probably a dumb question, sorry)

  • What are my chances of getting pregnant?

I'm just a little concerned about something that happened. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time. We were using a condom the whole time and we didn't find any breaks or tears, and he also did something like a pull-out, sort of. He pulled out like right before he came into the condom, I'm pretty sure. So I'm hoping I'm at low risk for pregnancy, here. But I looked at a calendar and I'm pretty sure I'm either close to or on one of my "fertile days." Of course, in three days (this tuesday) I'm getting a copper T IUD put in but I don't know how much that will help.

    Any reassurance appreciated, thank you.

  • Please help, I need advice on an IUD?!!!?

I'm getting an IUD put in later this month.

I will not be on my period then, because I'm on it now.

I've never been pregnant or had kids.

I know it will be uncomfortable.

Any advice? The clinic told me to take 800mg of ibuprofen an hour before coming in, but is that safe?! the most I've ever taken at a time is two. I'm 17 and I weigh 125lb if that helps at all.

  • Help! I bleed after being fingered?

It's happened four times already, in a row.

When my boyfriend fingers me, it doesn't hurt at all, but there's been blood on his fingers the past few times. I'm afraid of what it might be. This didn't used to happen, and I'm pretty sure my hymen is already broken. What could be the problem?

  • Help! My rats bury their food?

I have two pet rats and they live in a three-level wire cage.

On the second floor, I keep their food and water, so I can keep it away from the dust and smell on the first floor.

Well, they both have a tendency to take their food (I feed them rat food pellets, about the size of a die) and move it to the first floor and bury it in their bedding.

As you can imagine, it's very frustrating for me, especially since they're basically burying their food in their own waste. I pick it out and put it back in the bowl, but I come home from school at the end of the day, and it's all back down there!

    Any advice would help, thanks!
