are there any sound drivers that will work with an IBM S50 running windows 7.?

I recently picked up an old ibm that had XP on it but the HDD crashed ,so I installed another HDD along with windows 7 .Now thew sound is completely gone and it says there is no sound devices installed?!?

Thanks Jessie but have you EVER tried to get ANY information from IBM, Lenovop or Dell ? It is like pulling teeth from a chicken !!!!

and I do know very well where the product code is (I may wind up reverting to Linux as I know the sound works on it

    You need to find out what kind of sound cards are installed. Visit the manufacturers website to download the any driver updates they may have. You can also visit IBM's website for drivers, but it seems to me that problem lies in Windows 7 itself. You may want to see if you can get an Windows XP CD or .ISO file somewhere on the Internet on enter the original product key. Normally the product key is printed on a sticker on the computer .
