what breed is my cat?

I bought my cat from the vet and they gave me papers on her but the papers say she is just a regular shorthair cat. I don't believe she's a regular short hair cat, does anyone have an idea of what she might be?

here is a link to a picture of her. thank you :)

With less than 3% of the cats on this entire planet a particular breed of cat why do you "not believe" he's just a regular short hair cat?

Your cat is exactly what your vet said it is - a "domestic shorthair".

She is Domestic Short Hair cat, just like 95% of all other cats. The coloring appears to be silver mackerel tabby, though it is a little hard to see from the picture.

Why don't you believe she is not a regular shorthair cat? A cat is only pedigreed, that is, a specific breed, if both of their parents are known for sure to be pedigreed cats of the same breed. Only 2% of the cats in the US are pedigreed.

If a pedigreed (pure bred) siamese cat mates with a domestic short hair - then the kittens are all domestic short hair. If a pedigreed siamese mates with an abyssinian - then the kittens are still domestic short hair. Only siamese with siamese produces siamese. Therefore anything you might call a 'mixed breed' is merely a domestic cat.

Domestic Shorthaired silver tabby by the look of her. Gorgeous too! What a proud-looking cat!

What the hell? Why are you holding her like that?

I think she is a regular shorthair, but she looks like she's got some asian to her.

She's definitely a domestic short-hair tabby (silver). Mine has spots on her belly too! : )

And don't under estimate these great felines! They are super smart. I call my kitty a "cat-dog" because she plays fetch, sits and stays, and jumps in my arms on cue!

But, please, don't hold her like that... It's not comfortable for kitty.
