(Mexicans answer if possible) what do people REALLY eat in Mexico?

I'm from Australia mate, and we don't have any Mexicans, but we do have Mexican food like tacos burritos enchiladas tortillas etc but I think these are just a western interpretation. what are some hardcore traditional Mexican food which can be found in the heart of Mexico that Aussies like me have no clue about? please give the name and describe the food! Sweet mate!

every state of Mexico has their own twist on food. Burritos are not eaten in central mexico (mexico D.f) tortillas of course are everywhere but not those hard shell ones that you find allot. Staples of Mexico City would be pozole, mole , suadero tacos, babracoa cordero(lamb) or borrego(goat) and consome, pancita (or others call it in northern states menudo) sopes, huaraches, tacos de cencina. wow there are so many. Just google these you cant go wrong with trying any of these. When I go to visit family the first thing i do is go to the markets and buy a huarache, its kind of like a long pizza made of masa(tortilla dough) and beans that is fried and topped with beef, chicken, chorizo and salsa roja or salsa verde and cheese, these are the best and night time i can't get enough of tacos de suadero :) in Mexico city you wil also see tacos de pastor cooking everywhere!! you need to take a vacation to Mexico city and experience the food, best in the world :)
