How to extend unemployment benefits?
My unemployment benefits are running out....I am receiving the last check this week. I've only had 2 months worth of benefits. The job market is tough and I am not having much success. How can I extend my unemployment benefits?

You cannot extend them yourself. Only the government can extend them. If you only qualified for two months of regular benefits, then you probably do not qualify for an extension. Some states give extensions automatically to anyone who qualifies. If you do qualify and live in a state without automatic extensions, then you must apply to the government for an extension.

~~Once you exhaust your state benefits they will request the federal extension if you qualify. You do not do anything. You can read your state's policy by googling your state's unemployment office and reading what applies to your situation. Every state is different.~~

You can't. You have to wait and see if the government does it.
Yep, the job market is tough. You might have more luck making your OWN job. This time of year, it could be cooking, housecleaning, childcare, raking leaves, doing errands, petsitting, etc.
