how to loose weight naturally through exercise.?

I am currently 25 MALE, 5 foot 10" (178 cm) and currently weigh 124kg just under 20 stones and quite heavy boned individual. I have started doing light jogging from last week. I couldnt do more than 1/2mile at first but after a week its gone up to 1 mile or 1.6km (still early days). Just need advice on eating patterns and fitness reigime. To be honest I do not actually eat much during the day, I use to be quite fit around 2005/2006 but start hanging around with my friends alot often and you would probably find us in a resturant/take away whenever we do go out but even then my friends would eat much more than me but I have built up an extremely bad habbit of binging on food just before sleep. I quite often just go into the kitchen around 12 at night as I sleep quite late and just eat whatever is there...

I am determined to sort this out as I use to be in good shape before and used to be a fitness freak before... anyway all happens for a reason so just need solid advice, on fitness, diet, good foods, bad foods etc...
