    12x² - 7x = - 1

    x² - 7/24x = - 1/12 + (- 7/24)²

    x² - 7/24x = - 48/576 + 49/576

    (x - 7/24)² = 1/576

    x - 7/24 = ± 1/24

    x = 1/24 + 7/24, x = 8/24, x = 1/3

    x = - 1/24 + 7/24, x = 6/24, x = 1/4

    Answer: x = 1/3, 1/4

    We can't "solve" - there's no "=" sign in the problem;

    but we can "factor": 12x² - 7x + 1 = (3x-1) (4x-1)

    i would factor it. such as 12x^2-3x-4x+1

    then i would combine the terms so as to get a common factor

    it would look like this: 12x^2-3x + (-4x+1)

    then i would take out a -3x in the first equation. that leaves me with -3x(-4x+1) + 1(-4x+1)

    then you are left with-3x+1 and -4x+1.

    then solve for x

    x2 - 7/12x + 1/12 = 0

    x2 - 7/12x + (-7/24)2 = -1/12 + (-7/24)

    (x -7/24)^2 = -2/24 + -7/24

    -9/24 = (x-7/24)^2 remove the square by square root.

    x-7/24 = square root of (-9/24)

    x = square root of (-9/24) +7/24

    goodluck. goodnight.

    quadratic equation factoring:

    (3X-1)(4X-1)

    X=1/3 or X=1/4

    the problem is, it's not an equation

    (4x - 1) * (3x - 1)
