My son has an assignment for his class, he has to put 16 words in a story covering a certain topic.?

I have tried to help, pulling my hair out over this. This is the last resource I hope you can help. :)

His topic is Baseball.

The 16 words are as follows:

Ghastly, Tranquil, Defiant, Luminous , Humane, Notorious, Signify, Offend, Fugutive,

Obsolete, Grotesque, Distort, Loiter, Subtle, motive, Conspicuous.

To me these words don't match with baseball, but Im sure there is someone out there that has more of an imagination out there that could possibly lead me on the right track. Thank You All.

The score is 0-0, and Bill is the last batter up. The pitcher is a large, conspicuous fellow who has a grotesquely sweaty appearance. He is notorious for his bad temper. He yelled out some trash talk to offend Bill, but Bill persisted on being humane and didn't talk back. The pitcher struck out many batters, but Bill remained defiant to hit this one out of the park. Being the last man up, he used that as a motive to not let his fans and team mates down. The catcher displayed a hand sign to signify a curveball. Everyone held their breath. The arena was still and tranquil and the weather provided a luminous park. Bill and the pitcher both loitered there, making subtle movements. The pitcher threw the ball, curving it to distort the ball's trajectory. Bill hit the ball and made a home run. The crowd cheered as the pitcher displayed a ghastly look on his face. Bill cheered as he just made the pitcher's perfect game obsolete.

Fugutive isn't a word. Did you mean fugitive? Even so I still wouldn't know how to put that into the story.

This is the worst set of words for baseball ever!

Good story by the other poster. Here's how to add the word fugitive to the story.

Bill had a big grin on his face like a fugitive who just out foxed the police. He just made the pitcher's perfect game obsolete.
