Can your hair thin after catching a bad bug on holidays?
I was on a two week holiday and in the last week I caught a bad bug. I had diarrhoea, stomach cramps, vomiting and pretty much the whole lot. When i came back home from holidays my mom pointed out that my hair was after thinning a lot at the top of my scalp along the hairline. Just there and no other part of my head. Should I get it checked out or is it somewhat normal?

Hi there, I'm Vicky and I work for Herbal Essences. Hair loss/ thinning can be caused by malnutrition. In you case, the diarrhoea and vomiting probably meant that your body did not get all the nutrients it needs. I would recommend getting checked out by your doctor. He or she can help you determine if this has been causing your hair to thin and can probably recommend some good supplements for you to take to get your body back on track. In the meantime, make sure you eat a well-balanced diet.
