  • Mercilon pill, Dark brown period 2 months in row?

With the last two periods that I had, the blood has been very light (as in only when I wipe) and a little bit clotty. The blood has been a dark brown colour. I had these when my period was due both times and had the pains to go with them. So technically I haven't had a proper period since about 3 months ago. I have been taking Mercilon for the last year or so and didn't have problems until now. Is this normal with this pill or is it something else thats causing it?

  • Ulcer pain and earache at same time?

Basically I have a yet to diagnose ulcer. The doctor seems fairly convinced it is one though. Everytime lately when I get the pain spasms associated with it I get a pain in my ear at the same time. I also notice I'm getting frequent headaches also. Is this all normal?? The earache is only there when I get the pains in my stomach.

  • I'm making a strange noise in my throat?

Several times during the day I make a strange noise in the bottom of my throat. Its a noise people can make themselves but its involuntary to me. Its getting embarrassing as I make the noise when I'm out and my family are constantly giving out about it. I cant stop making it even when I try to stop when I know its going to happen and sometimes I cant even take a breath or cough without having to make this noise. I cant really describe the noise at all so I hope ye have enough to go on here. I'm just wondering why I'm doing it and what it is.

  • In ireland does anxiety count as a disability?

I have had anxiety as bad as I have now, for the last three years. Its showing no signs of easing despite countless different medications, Herbal remedies and cognitive behavioural therapy. When I was working before I was a complete nervous wreck! Stumbling over my words talking to customers, messing up the jobs I was doing due to my nervousness and taking what was a constructive criticism from my boss very badly. Sometimes went in to work crying and depressed. In the eyes of the social welfare what would be my chances of getting disability?

  • Can your hair thin after catching a bad bug on holidays?

I was on a two week holiday and in the last week I caught a bad bug. I had diarrhoea, stomach cramps, vomiting and pretty much the whole lot. When i came back home from holidays my mom pointed out that my hair was after thinning a lot at the top of my scalp along the hairline. Just there and no other part of my head. Should I get it checked out or is it somewhat normal?

I got a blood test done Wednesday to check for Rhuematoid Arthritis. On the Thursday morning I noticed the vein was slightly bruised and yesterday the vein was very black and blue and there was even a couple of bruises forming around my elbow and just the general area around it. The bruise up the vein is going up roughly about 3 inches. It is also fairly sore to touch.

  • Confused whether its anxiety or not?

In two weeks time I will be 21. My sister was diagnosed with MS 2 years ago just before she turned 23. For the last couple of years I have been suffering from bad anxiety. I also have a fairly bad short term memory. Since September I have found it very difficult to get a nights sleep. About 3-4 hours being the most I'd get.

I'm in college and find it very hard to concentrate and focus on the board. I can't retain information at all and thus find it very difficult to study. However when I was in secondary school I depended on my listening and my ability to retain information to learn and study.

I also think my muscles are getting weaker as I find it hard to even hold a door open for a couple of seconds without my arms giving way! In college there's a red strip to indicate the bottom step of the stairs and another red strip to tell you where the top most step is. I find if I'm looking down my coordination gets affected and I feel dizzy.

I used to get eye twitches, pains in back and front of eyes, shooting pains in my forearm (Hasn't happened in a while) Had a strange twitch in my right cheek a couple of times too. My legs go numb while I'm lying in bed lately too, I might be paying too much attention to the symptoms but my sister had some of these before she was diagnosed and was told it was severe stress and anxiety. Any idea's?
