I would recommend buying a Skoda Fabia.

Skoda's are strong basic cars, ideal for you I should think. However!!!

1. Check the insurance before you buy it, you will probably have to pay a lot more than you expect!

2. Skoda is a great car to start with mostly cause they are affordable. But be sure if you buy it from an owner that they allow you to take it to a professional mechanic, if they dont then theres most likely a lot of problems and you should find another. If you want more on the car model itself you can google reviews on the car from people who actually own one.

Skodas are good cars. Reliable, economical, cheap to run, built like VWs without the price tag.

Skoda are excellent value, reliability is excellent and easy to drive and insure. If you cannot get one, try a Ford Fiesta or Corsa, both of which will also be easy to insure, provided you keep the engine size low, or a diesel model
