Can you enroll in a college just for the required classes?

I'm not sure if this makes sense. I'm still confused about how college works. I only have one community college where I live, but I'm not sure how the general education classes work. Do you also have to take electives with the general education classes, and at the end of the two years, you get an associates degree in whatever you focused on? The community college doesn't have any associate degree programs in what I want to major in, but it's the only college close to me which is what I can afford.

I'm just wondering if I can take only the required classes like English, Science, etc, and then transfer those credits over to another college to fully complete my associates degree when I need to complete those extra curricular classes?

Update:

The college I was wondering if I could enroll in for just general classes is Savannah Tech. They don't really call themselves a community college, but it's the only school that comes up in my search. They only have very technical programs like Nursing, Welding, etc. I am definitely more geared toward creative things so I know I'm going to do something in the art field, even though I don't know what yet. Not knowing is what makes this all so hard. I was thinking about transferring to SCAD after completing the general education classes at Savannah Tech, but I don't know...

This is difficult because you have not said what you want to major in or what community college is close to you. Typically, community college degree come in three types (there is sometimes a fourth). AA degrees are general liberal arts degree that may not even have a major. These degrees are for transfer and give you a lot of choices in courses. AS degrees are still transfer degrees, but have a specific major. AAS degrees are for career. You usually cannot just pick an area and get a degree in it, but must pick one of the degrees that are in the catalog. You will not usually have to repeat general education classes that you have already taken. You may still have to take four semesters of classes because of prerequisites but this is mostly in the AAS programs. If there is another community college in your state, check to see if they have the courses you need on line. You may be able to combine in-class courses at your local college with online courses from the other. This will not work for financial aid in most states. Call the college. Community colleges are used to people coming in and asking for advise.

To discuss your second paragraph, the answer is a qualified yes. It will depend on the rules in your state regarding transfers between community colleges. You should find out now from the transfer admissions office at the college to which you want to transfer which classes from your current college they will accept and also what their general education requirements are.

As for the question in your first paragraph, your college may have rules about how many general education classes a student may take at one time. It there is a limit, you would have to choose between taking electives and being a part time student. If there is a rule which limits the number of general education classes, it probably exists because there is not enough space in them for everyone to take as many as they want to take.

you could connect a single classification in case you desire to. there is not any required form you ought to be in. maximum faculties enable as much as 18 credit in step with semester. you will possibly be able to desire to figue out in case you desire to pass to a 4 year college and wind up a Bachelor degree. if so then in basic terms take typical academic instructions. no others will pass over. Or in case you desire to do a 2 year occupation application. then you definitely might desire to take all instructions required for that application- there is regularly an order to take them in. you will possibly be able to desire to fulfill with a school adviser

yes you can do that, all the people do that because of their low GPA after finishing high school.
