Is a 108 on the DLAB a qualifying score when it comes to Air Force Linguist jobs?

I hope someone with experience in the field can answer. I have tried researching and all I can find is outdated forums and outdated articles from about.com

Yes it is. 100 is the cut off so you just made it. Why are you looking at forums instead of the current air force website data? I will add that is for people enlisting for the first time. The air force just started a program for those already in to become linguists and the DLAB cut off score for them is 85. The air force does not do waivers for DLAB scores.

My understanding is that 100 is the cutoff for Air force and Marines for DLI, but the army MOS req's that I've been researching usually ask for a minimum 110. If you did well on the ASVAB, I have heard of DLAB scores being compensated up since high scores there tend to suggest good study skills in school. I just took the DLAB myself and it is a beast of a test, you should still be proud of a 108 really. I hear the average score is 60 - 80 and that less than 5% who ever take it (and retake it) ever pass.

If the job you want demands a 110 or above, I would definitely talk to a recruiter about having it waived up. Two more points on your standard score is probably less than the difference would have been by guessing one more question right, so thats really pretty negligible.
