  • Why does my tape keep stopping playback?

My cassette player on my home stereo plays a tape for a while and then all of a sudden stops. When I eject, I inspect the tape and consistantly, about 1 inch of tape has unraveled and is just loose and floppy. I wind it back tight, put it back into the cassette player and continue playing. It has done this about 3 times per side on 2 different tapes. Anyone have any ideas if something needs to be calibrated?

  • If I use my Apple Care to get a new iPhone can I repurchase Apple Care again?

I figure that because they will usually replace your troubled phone with a refurbished one you should be able to, but if anyone could weigh in on their knowledge or experiences I would appreciate it.

  • Can civilians wear the Air Force Fleece jacket with a custom name tape (No Ranks)?

My family is here visiting and one of them really wants to buy a green sage fleece. He thinks it's really cool and just enjoys unique things. Basically, he would like to get his nickname on a name tape as well as Fox Racing on the other name tape because he is really into Moto-x. I can see why military members must remove all names and ranks when wearing the fleece with civilian clothes but I couldn't seem to find anything about civilians purchasing the fleece. Because the AFI seems to be directed towards military members, do you think this will be a problem?

  • Is it possible to switch from the MGIB to the Post 9/11 GI bill?

In basic training last year, there was an hour session where we had to sign a form to either opt for the MGIB or Post 9/11 GI Bill or waive them both completely. The Instructor didn't explain anything except our instructions of how to fill out the form. A year later, I have been researching my benefits and it seems like the MGIB doesn't even compare to benefits of the Post 9/11 GI Bill. I am still currently confused regarding the benefits of each. There must be advantages and disadvantages of both or else why would they both exist? Any clarifications would be greatly appreciated.

  • Air Force - Tech School to First Duty Station QUESTION?

This is a complicated situation to understand but i'll try to explain and hopefully can get some knowledge from people....I am in Texas. I will be leaving my tech school to go to Recruiter Assistance Program back home. And then I need to get to Washington because that is my portal location to get overseas...I think I have to pay for the ticket to go home for RAP, BUT I have heard of a leisure exchange program where my original Government ticket from TX to WA could be exchanged to become my ticket to go back home. Then from home, I would only need to pay for a ticket to Washington. Has anyone heard or or had a situation similar to this?

  • AFSC Contract - Can I decide to back out day before Basic?

Hi, I received a contract under General Aptitude Area. It is not what I really wanted, but I was thinking of signing it because there are 4 months until the ship date (April 12). I specifically told that recruiter that I want a guaranteed job and she said over the next 4 months, if one comes up that was on my list I would get that and someone else in line would take my contract.

I'm all about serving the country but I would back out in April if my contract still said "General" on it

Is this possible to do? Because technically I am still in the DEP

  • Air Force contract Question...PLEASE HELP!?

I have been going through the motions when it comes to joining the AF. I processed through MEPS at the end of September. When it came time to pick my top 5 jobs, I listed 5 JOBS that I would be interested in.

Yesterday, My recruiter called and says, "Good news, we've got you a ship date." I asked what job would I be placed into. She said I would be going down under the General Aptitude Index, which means that when I get down there, they will put me in whatever job they want to as long it is under the general aptitude index.

I told her that I never put that down on the list, which I didnt because Gen Apt Index is NOT a JOB.

I am Extremely skeptical about this and then she is pressuring me like crazy saying that If I don't sign the contract then I will be discharged from the DEP and I will never be able to join the Air Force again. This is ridiculous to me that the whole time I've been going through the processes, I have been told that I will get 1 of the 5 jobs and then she's telling me that's not happening. I got 91 on ASVAB, 108 on DLAB and I was trying to become a lynguist (which they said were in high demand).

    1. Is this situation right?

    2. Am I able to refuse to sign this contract and wait for one of my JOBS to come up?

    Please help me out

  • BMX - New stem bolts for my Animal Jumpoff Stem (Original)?

I Bought Shadow Conspiracy, But they don't fit. The description said they would fit most metric stems, so I guess the Animal Jumpoff isn't metric. Most of the descriptions on BMX shop sites have a vague description of bolts, saying that they will fit most stems.

  • Is a 108 on the DLAB a qualifying score when it comes to Air Force Linguist jobs?

I hope someone with experience in the field can answer. I have tried researching and all I can find is outdated forums and outdated articles from about.com
