Like the fake incident over Tom Brady's hair, earlier allegations that Favre sent "forbidden" messages to the Vikings with a "Packer-supplied" cell phone (which proved not to exist AT ALL!), T.O.'s "suicide attempt", there is no proof this entire thing isn't somewhere between ridiculous exaggeration and a complete hoax.

Moreover, those who claim to speak for the females involved have pretty much announced whatever testimony they give is going to be "that which most benefits" the clients. This may be some kind of trumped-up blackmail.

Truth is, we don't KNOW anything, and this is gossip. There are no criminal charges contemplated or involved, and there may be no misconduct. It's a seedy store, and seems to be about three shady females and MAY involve a tough old warrior nearing the end of his magnificent string, OR it may just be a faked-up extortion attempt.

Most of the previous cheap hoaxes about Favre originated from his nemesis, Ted Thompson, the bungling Green Bay general manager, and it really wouldn't surprise me if the whole matter was fabricated and fake. Thompson is one of those tight-fisted types who feels it isn't necessary to use free agency or the draft to do much with the offensive line, and who has always seemed bitterly vindictive about Favre's departure.

I don't think so. For one thing, Sterger isn't the one who leaked the story. A Jets official did it. So I don't see how you can say that Sterger is the one who is trying to capitalize. So far, Sterger hasn't even commented on the story. That doesn't sound like someone who's eager to pursue the case.

If anyone was trying to capitalize, it was the Jets trying to distract Favre before their game last week. But that's too close to conspiracy-theory thinking, and I don't like to engage in that.

Second of all, the fact that a woman doesn't report an incident right away doesn't make Favre's behavior excusable. He is a married man, so he shouldn't be sending those pictures even if she wanted them. And if she didn't want them, that is sexual harassment. Any adult man should be smart enough to know that isn't acceptable behavior. If somone in my office did that, he'd be fired immediately.

You asked the question that I have been pondering. Not that Favre is EXCUSED from his alleged behaviour, but I am perplexed as to WHY NOW and not THEN? There is ABSOLUTELY an agenda. What? I do not know. I once said money, but then I was corrected and said she HAS MONEY. She certainly has SOMETHING to gain from this. It's quite a shame, but it is even MORE shameful that Favre would cheat on is wife, AND leave ELECTRONIC evidence!

Not smart! I have always thought highly of Favre since he entered the league. If any legitimacy is placed with this sexting, his legacy could be tainted - unbelievably ignorant! Just my opinion, though.
