Does the television affect quality of sleep?
I've been going to sleep with my TV on for years, I need ambient noise to go sleep, and I have never been a morning person. I feel sick everytime I wake up ... throat is dry and almost like a soar throat, eyes hurt, and extremely tired.
Two days ago I started going to bed with just music on at a low volume and it knocks me out. I don't nearly feel as crappy as I did with my TV on, and I can get myself out of bed a lot quicker and with more ease.
Is this just some weird coincidence?

no, tv can make you not sleep well. Even if you are asleep you still hear everything. Your brain is trying to process what it hears so you don't feel rested
