Why do people have dogs, if all they do is leave them outside to bark all day?
I love dogs, but don't have any. Yet I am surrounded by neighbours that have them and allow them to bark all day. So frustrated, would the SPCA do anything?

They think it's easy, then finally realize that they aren't going to be able to replace that shoe or that carpet. They do everything they can to separate themselves from them, but still be able to say, "I have a dog".
Yes, the ASPCA will take them if they are being abused. Being chained up outside all day counts as abuse.

Why would you do that? You just want the loving owners to have to get their dogs taken away, JUST because they bark? Get used to the barking, or go talk to the neighbors yourself. Mmmkayy.
I mean, are they really barking ALL day, 24 hours? If so, if they are outside 24 hours a day, then go talk to them about the barking. Dogs bark all the want, there are a million reasons possible. My friend once got his dog take away because it was barking. Then they had to go buy the dog back. Are you sure it's not a different dog every few hours thats barking?
Barking isn't even that bad anyways, you should just get used to it.
P.S. If a dog has a good environment, and lives outside, it's NOT abuse. There are excellent dog owners, who's dogs live outside. As long as it has shelter, food, water, and a clean safe living space it's not abuse. Most likely an owner who lives up to these, walks, cares for , and plays with their dog daily. In some cases it may be abuse but only in a poor living environment.

many people with pets have lifes if the dogs bark all day its cuz the ppl may be at work and is cared for and loved when the people are home. ... maybe the dog was rescued and even if in the back yard barking it is still better then a small kennel waiting to die..... but u know thats just me.... u never know the true story . if the truth is the ppl could care less about the dog then f them. call animal patrol, but until u know for sure thats the way u got to think

That's a good question. I've wondered about that myself. Unless they're not being fed, given water or show obvious signs of neglect or abuse, the SPCA probably couldn't do anything. Then again, they may be more strict where you live; a phone call to ask them about it couldn't hurt. The noise may violate some sort of local ordinance though.

You should report them to the police, and to the local dog pound. We had a couple of neighbors who left their dogs out all the time, and the dogs barked constantly.
Report them.
