I am a smart rational person and I believe Jehovah was a space alien...and I believe in chem trails, and conspiracy theories... and that all isn't what it seems. But then I am supposedly crazy, too...at least bi-polar. It takes a crazy person to see the light sometimes, wish more of us were crazy. But I am very very smart, and was a B student looking out the window, have a very high IQ and a photographic memory, besides I remember where I was be I am a smart rational person and I believe Jehovah was a space alien...and I believe in chem trails, and conspiracy theories... and that all isn't what it seems. Also I am smart enough to take this question personally and not just blame this on others!!

They are brainwashed from an early age. Think about it. From day 1 you are baptised or christened or whatever, then you go to school and have to take part in assemblies that worship god without asking you if you are ok with that and you're taught R.E. whether it's your belief or not.

To stop you from choosing against religion you are called a blasphemer, pagan or heathen and threatened with eternal damnation against your mortal soul, with absolutely no evidence that such a thing could happen. In olden days you would be stoned to death for daring to believe anything that upset the norm.

Brainwashing has powerful effects. Take the entire German population during the reign of the Nazi party. It didn't just stop in germany it it didnt die out after the 2nd World War, did it?

people are conditional, that is to say, we can be conditioned by our backgrounds & environment and we will believe anything we are told if it is forced upon us from a young age or just done the right way.

it is an evil we constantly live with and it constantly drags us back to the dark ages. Take homosexuality in this day and age as the perfect example, even though so many catholic priests are guilty of it.

When religion is eradicated & logic wins, which is inevitable given enough time, the world will truely be an enlightened place

ROFL, I just love how people just automatically *assume* it has to be us Christians that you are talking about.. And after reading their so very *thought out* and *very adult* answers, I doubt any of them have a brain that works.... But, that aside, I am just as rational and sane today, as a *Child of God* as I was when I was an atheist... I was 34 years old, not a child, not *brain washed*, etc.... go in peace..... God bless

PS, and yes I know it is us, or at lest theist, that you are talking about....

    Simple common sense?

    Look in the real world.

    Decode this lyrics " You'll see "

    "Wonderful wonderful"

    "Wonderful life"

    "Time after time"

    "Don't know much"

    "Wonderful world"

    "Just another day"

    "What a wonderful world"

    "The lost children"

    "All the children"

    "Lost"

"Stranded in the middle of no where"

    Could no longer differentiate themselves?

Whether they are the living of intelligence design or the living dead of artificial intelligence or things?

Themselves as a desk-top also OK?

Malfunction like a desk-top also OK

    As an I-Robot also OK??

    Luke 21.30-36

    Luke 9.25,55-56,60

    Luke 8.5-8,10-17

    Luke 24.44-45,47-48

    What do you think?

Because they are not as smart and rational as you would believe.

They just "happen" to believe a few things that makes sense. Things like "the sun is hot" for instance.

I agree with A.E.C. A. Everyone has their own set of beliefs and values. Because they don't match yours we believe "crazy" things? Talk about being closed-minded. It may be crazy to you, but it obviously wasn't crazy to Einstein, or Abraham Lincoln, or Martin Luther King Jr. I doubt you've ever considered that you just might be wrong.

  • I can't speak for all crazy or irrational things, but I can tell you that when it comes to religion, it's not a logical or reasoned choice. Belief in a religion is an emotional choice, not a logical one.

Because it's not crazy or irrational. They've looked at the information. At the facts. And they've come to the conclusion that makes th most sense to them.Just like you have.

They compartmentalize their minds. But it is also true that a great many say they believe, and recite the creed in church, but don't really take it all that seriously. It's like clapping to say you believe in fairies when Tinkerbell is about to die. Peer pressure and "going along" with the premise cover a lot of territory.

Smartness is not a pre-requisite for salvation. It is Faith in God salvation plan and righteousness.

The Bible says God will make fools out of those that think they are wise according to themselves,.,
