What would you do with sherry, mushrooms and cream?
Any ideas are great, though I am leaning towards finding a recipe suitable with meat and only a bit of cream, not really a cream sauce per se.

Thin beef strip. Pounded & seasoned. Cooked 2 minutes on each side in hot olive oil. Removed & saute shallots (or onions) for two minutes, then some garlic.Toss in the mushrooms, chopped & toss & cook for a few minutes. Then add the sherry, a tablespoon of butter & a tablespoon of flour. Stir till bubbly & pour in the cream (1/4 cup? 1/2?) Stir til mixed & put the beef strips back in & let simmer a few minutes. Over rice or maybe wide noodles.

I'd make the sauce below, adding a dash of sherry to deglaze.
Mushroom Walnut Sauce for Pasta
2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
8 oz. Mushrooms - sliced
1/4 C. Walnuts - chopped
3/4 C. Heavy whipping cream
1/4 tsp. Black pepper
1/2 C. Fresh Parmesan - grated
Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium heat. Saute mushrooms and walnuts until mushrooms are golden. Add cream and cook stirring frequently for 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Turn heat to warm and when cream stops simmering, add pepper and Parmesan and stir until sauce is smooth. Do not boil. Serve over pasta. Especially good w/ stuffed pastas.

Frankly, I'd lean towards a fresh asparagus soup served in covered tiny cups - grating fresh nutmeg on top will serve you well - no pun intended.
Adding a hot Dilly Casserole Bread to pull apart with fruited butters will truly round out the meal, and increase the protein.
