Cheer for me potty. Did you get this for your child, and do you think it helped?

Also, my son who is 18 months seems to be interested, so I wanted to give him sonthing he could get on/practice. Do you think it's easier to train boys sitting or standing? He already knows daddy stands, so think it makes more sense for him too also.

I didn't use that potty. We used the one with the soft seat. I don't remember what it was called but it didn't make sounds or cheer. They still potty trained fine without it but if you want to get it then I don't see that it would hurt anything. One of my friends used that for her little girl and it didn't help anymore than the regular potty though.

Sticker/reward charts seem to help more than anything else.

Whatever you and your son is comfortable with is fine as far as sitting or standing. My boys learned by standing. I've heard of putting a couple of cheerios in the potty and letting them at the cheerios to see if they could sink them also. lol

My son hated the sensation of being in a soiled diaper. When he used to be round two or so, he determined that he desired to begin utilizing the potty. When he could begin to make use of the toilet on himself, he could run to the toilet and take a look at to get there as quickly as viable. I suppose that it used to be every week after he began to desire to make use of the potty while he while he used to be daylight hours potty expert. He is an attractive unbiased child and he could hate to be wiped after he used to be completed. Obviously, we could nonetheless aid him besides, however he did not find it irresistible in any respect.

If I were you I would train on the most basic potty you can find. Don't forget it's just a training aid which will enable them to progress to using a toilet. If you provide something "all singing, all dancing" it becomes a toy, you don't want it to be a toy.
