Simplify the expression 4b ^ -6?

I put the answer 1 / 4b^6 but got it wrong...thanks!

    the reason u have ti simplify this is because u have a negative exponent.

    u must make the exponents positive. to make 6 positive u must bring it down to the denominator as well as the variable it is associated with. In this case, the -6 is the exponent of "b" so must bring both down.

    you get: 4/b^6

    ur mistake: you brought the 4 down to the denominator.
