What do you think caused these parallel scratch-like wounds?

Serrated knife?

Animal claws?

Road rash?

Other?

The person was found in a creek, late spring, water temperature was 60F. Time of death was 10 to 15 hours prior to the time the photograph was taken. The victim had suffered blunt force trauma to the head and had ligatures tying the right wrist to right ankle; left wrist to left ankle.

CAUSE OF DEATH: Multiple Injuries with Drowning.

MANNER OF DEATH: Homicide.

    I would say the scratches were caused by an animal, they look very similar to my arms when my cat scratches me.

    Since the 1st & 3rd scratches are the same length, as are the 2nd and 4th scratches, i would say either a specific gardening tool was used, claw like, or possibly road rash, considering the blackened scrape running parallel to the 4 scratches...

    Someone pushed the victim into a bush and he got scratched?
