25,000km running in a years requires a diesel car.!!!! The good cars in your price range are Swift/Ritz/Figo - Figo got the very good boot space and is a real VFM car.!!!!

You should go for diesel car, serves best for the annual commute mentioned. You may need to stretch your budget to get hold of diesel models like Swift, Ritz, VW Polo and i20. You may get the entry level variant of swift and Ritz (Ldi) for the budget mentioned which would lack features. Other options within 5.5 are the Figo's(Mid variant) and Indica Vista.

depends how and where you drive. Diesels are not well suited to quick, sporty driving, nor stop-start short runs. They will pull big loads at modest speeds economically IF you drive them properly. Diesel clutches tend to be heavier than petrol, because they're bigger. A diesel will run on a wide variety of low grade oils, but petrol has to be up to standard. Diesels generally do not like being run on petrol, tho' it can be used to start some.

The Best is to buy a car from a company owned by Chung Ju Yung. From Hyundai cars.
Santro is the best . Best at avg, steering , performance.
Go for diesel as it is cheaper than petrol.
Or go for petrol if you want speed
God Bless you:)
