How can we get Yahoo PULSE to reinstate our Avatar pictures? How many people object to the way PULSE is acting?
For all the sorry details of the frustrations I am experiencing in my futile attempts to get my avatar picture back, check this out: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmMcn...
Out of nowhere, a screen popped up on my laptop asking me to edit my preferences. I elected to go for privacy because, over the last week, I have received about 70 unwanted and unsolicited requests for person or persons unknown to link up with me. I am not alone. This has been happening to my contacts all over the world. We are being inundated with junk email requests from unlikely characters such as:
Susannah Gaylord
Corey Benanos
Usha Heyde
Julio Frayar
Ione Quatromini
Taina Yamanaka
Since I requested privacy, those emails have stopped. I refuse to allow those people access to my account.
I've also noticed that avatar pictures are disappearing all over the world, to be replaced with that anonymous grey face. This is because we chose not to be exposed to spam and junk on PULSE. It seems that unless we agree to give open access to all and sundry, Yahoo! PULSE will not allow us to have our avatar picture. Is this commercial blackmail?
Please join me in protesting to PULSE about the way we are being treated and ask them to reinstate our avatar pictures. If you agree with me, please respond to this question and send it to others.
From an extremely cross and dissatisfied Yahoo contributor.
Hi, Richard, and yes, I have tried changing my settings but the problem was caused by this Yahoo PULSE thing - whatever it is. I can't find PULSE, I don't know how to get into it so I am stuck.

Wow, this really has you spun up.
Usha Heyde and I go way back. I went to college with Ione Quatromini. And Taina Yamanaka is co-founder of the Internet, along with Al Gore. <just kidding>
Um, dumb question...have you tried changing your photo back to what it was?? Seems like that should work. I've noticed some people's Avatar photo is gray one day, back to normal the next. Sometimes it even changes during the day. I attribute that to software blips, or server blips.
Change your photo back and see if it ripples through.
edit: Regarding Y!A, it is free. Millions of people use it. One gray face will not make Yahoo corporate the least bit concerned...it should, but it won't.
I've been with Yahoo as an early adopter (1996) of their email. I even PAY for my account. Fourteen years I have yet to get a person on the phone. If they treat paying customers like dog poop........
Were I you...create a fake account and set the profile picture to something you know. Login and make sure it is there....then change the privacy settings one step at a time and see how it affects the picture (you need to logoff and in to see the affect). This way you could "dial in" on what is causing the problem. Ten euros says it is a setting.
If I lose, I will claim I meant pesos.
Peace.
