well, usually you can just "turn it on" by going on a video chat site or program. Like, if you go to Facebook Video Chat Rounds (http://www.rounds.com/facebook-video-chat/) It will detect your webcam and ask to "allow access." If you click "allow," it will activate the webcam.

1) Insert the disk that came with the webcam, on your PC.
2) When instructed by the installation program, plug the webcam's USB cable to the PC. Don't do this before prompted or you would have to uninstall the software and start all over.
3) Complete the installation. Provide the personal info as requested. Don't worry if Logitech indicates that it would be the default.
4) Next, using the Logitech software, test the video, then ADD Skype. If Logitech doesn't give that choice, Download Skype (go to skype.com) and complete the installation. Provide the email address that you want people to call you.
5) Start Skype, ADD New Contacts. make sure that you know someone that is on Skype. Skype provides a Test Call, to verify you are ready to call.
6) If you need more details, email me. Look at my profile. XP and Firefox are OK. You would find more comments at YouTube.com, search for C270.

Okay, so first of all you both need a webcam communication program like Skype. Skype is definitely the best one. So download skype from skype.com.
after this, plug in your webcam through a USB and it should automatically download the driver for you (i think a little balloon will pop up on the bottom right of your screen).
Open up skype, and it should automatically find your webcam. all you have to do now is create a skype name or whatever, add your friend's contact name through skype, and then you can just call them. it's really simple to use.
Have fun!!!

First you have to install the drivers of the web cam, windows does this almost automatically when you first connect your cam it will tell you that a new device was found, and let you choose among where to find the drivers, if the cam came with a disk I suggest you lod this drivers from it. After all this just choose your favorite IM like windows messenger and yahoo messenger and form it just click where it says open a web cam or something like it or open a video conference.
