A year ago I had my gallbladder removed. I had a gallstone trapped in my main bile duct. My pancreas was infected, and my liver was enlarged due to having 4,000 enzymes within the organ instead of the normal 100. On top of all that, I was in the middle of my menstrual cycle and I had cramps in my lower abdomen. I was hospitalized for 9 days and had surgery.

All the doctors said "The pain you are experiencing is MUCH worse than childbirth" which is why I am commenting on this question.

I may not know what childbirth feels like, but I do know what PAIN feels like. and I 100% agree. I will NEVER forget the pain I experienced during the whole scenario I had a year ago.

Never in my life will I forget the pain!

But in the end, after having survived that excruciating, constant pain, I am sure that I will be able to deliver a child without too much problems (since I've already been in pain that excruciating)

Pain like that is NEVER forgotten.

I AGREE with the statement. I do, however, think it might have some part to do with how good or bad of an experience you had. With my daughter I was induced and had the epidural, so I can't say much, but it was still am easy 10 minute push. With my son... only in labor 2 hours, barely made it to the hospital. Two painful pushes and he was here. Sure it hurt, but I remember the handsome baby that came out of it. I actually enjoyed labor lol... I know it sounds crazy, but childbirt is a extraordinary and beautiful thing if you really concentrate on what is happening.

Hell, I forgot right after my son was delivered and I had a four day long natural labor and birth! Then again, he was a preemie and the second he was out, all of my attention was listening for him to cry. Labor and childbirth are just pains that are so different from everything else, at least for me. If I ever have another child I will definitely have another natural, drug-free birth.

I dont think you necessarily "forget" the pain. You remember the pain but you love your child so much and the urge to have more supercedes the pain you had before. Ask a woman after 5 mins and she will say "I will never do that again!".. down the road the same woman cant wait to have another one.

Well...mmmm....I did, untill it was time to do it again. I went natural the first time, no drugs(BIG mistake) I was determined to do it again...it is best for the baby, I thought. I went in saying I was going natural again..but in the back of my mind told myself if I couldn't take it I would get the drugs. I did..and it was so much better. I woudl do it again tomorrow but...we are not having another. Well...maby but right now it is no. If hubby would agree...I would do it agian tomorrow with NO drugs...and deal with the pain to have another baby.

If you just had your baby...your mind will most likely change in a year or two..or 5(like me) when your baby isn't a baby.

Yes and no. You will of course remember it hurt. But how bad it hurt does fade and become 'rose colored' over time. That's just how the human mind works, for most at least.

I think you forget the sensation and the actually feeling of what it was like, but you'll NEVER forget the simple fact that it F***ing hurts!

I agree with the statement. If you disagree your child is probably still young.

I agree. If I would have remembered I would definatly not be about to do it again. Although now that Im about to do it again, its like CRAP! Now I remember totally worth it though.
