Why can't those who "answer" question actually read the question and then answer it?

I've asked a couple questions lately and I get wordy answers that do not address the question. Are "martial artists" thick headed and unable to understand a question? I don't think so. Read the question, think and then aswer seems to be the problem. The problem is actually thinking about the question rather than their answer. So to those who answered my questions - what's your problem?

I read your question. Then I took a look at some of the questions you have asked in the Martial arts section. Of the first two questions I looked at one was very controversial, and is likely to only start arguments. The other is not clear. It could be interpreted as asking several things all of which are different, and or confusing.

I don't know you so I can't say if you ask these because you really want an answer, or for other reasons ?

My problem is I don't think the way you do or believe what you believe so when I read your question and answer it according to my own thought processes and methods it doesn't agree with your preconceived notions and biases.

The last question, and only one of yours I answered, was a complete and thought out answer. You wanted the answer "Wars are fought with guns, the unarmed tactics of martial arts are not modernly relevant to war. Since they aren't relevant in the modern context of warfare they are no longer martial." Or seem to have wanted to hear an answer along those lines. I don't believe that to be true so I read the question and answered it according to what I do believe.

Have you considered that just because the answer doesn't address the question in a fashion you believe to be best it still is a thoughtful answer to the question you asked? If you don't want answers that fall outside the box of what you want to hear then stop asking questions.

First the question has to be a question.

When it is in the form of "If X is true, then Y is true", it is no longer a question but a logical argument.

Just say specifically who so you could get the answer you really want.
