Should I add water to my crock pot ribs?

I'm making about 2lbs of ribs in a crock pot. I put them on a bed of onions, and then dumped a bottle of bbq sauce on them. Now I'm reading that I maybe should have put water in first. Should I add that now? I JUST started cooking them

Sarah, yes you can, but try adding wine, instead of the water.

Edit, 1/2 to 3/4 of a glass of wine. When you have done that, pour another glass for yourself, sit back and enjoy.

For Lisa, obviously ribs cooked in a crock pot.

First : you did not need a whole bottle in each . 1/2 a bottle would have been sufficient . Second : since they are being cooked most of the alcohol will be evaporated . The flavor will be strong , so yes i would remove some of the Jack , but do not add water , add apple juice . Third : use some of the Jack and apple juice in the BBQ sauce ! Always accentuate the flavor you start with .

The water will help steam cook them and yes you should have added it first but it won't hurt to go ahead and add it anyway.

  • Just add it now, it is better than not adding it at all. It will be fine :)
