  • I added a stitch, can I just knit two together?

I'm just making a simple lap blanket (knit 2, kb1, purl* repeat) and I'm added a stitch somewhere. Will it make a big hole or something if I just knit two together? I think I added it a row or two ago and I'm horrible at reverse knitting!

  • How long should I cook 3 pork chops in the slow cooker?

All of the recipes are for 6 chops and I only have 3. Should I cut the time in half like I would the recipe?

  • Do I have to get sub-Q fluids or can I keep upping his water intake?

My 8year old cat has kidney problems. They recommended k/d dry food, which I realized after opening it that it's not much different than regular dry food. I also read on the internet to water down his wet food to just make sure he's getting more water to flush out his kidneys.

I already have to get his teeth out (the blood work for that is how we found out about the kidneys) so I don't want to spend a ton of money on the kidneys too. Should I still get a dose of the sub-Q fluids or is he fine just eating eating the watery food?

  • My cat has very high kidney enzymes - now what?

In doing the blood work to get my cat's teeth out, the vet discovered that his kidney enzymes are double what they should be. I'm waiting on a call back to get a price for flushing them out, but this is apparently going to be a chronic problem. Is this something that people with cats sometimes live with for the rest of their cat lives? Or is there another way to cope? I really don't have the money to be constantly putting in to him. (He's about 9yrs old).

  • Do I have get ALL of my cat's teeth removed?

Kitty is 7yrs old and has a mouth of rotten teeth. He had one out a couple of years ago, but now the vet is recommending a full mouth extraction - which I do not have the cash for. He has one or two teeth that are especially bad, (all of them are at least red-rimmed) so I'm wondering if I should maybe just get those removed and take my chances. I don't even know if that's much cheaper, I'm just assuming.

  • Where can I find a good sweater pattern?

I'm looking for a nice, simple sweater or cardigan pattern for either knit or crochet. All I am able to find online is stuff that looks like it's from the 70's or 80's and I want to make something that looks like a shirt I would buy in a store.

Does anyone know any good links to free, modern sweaters or cardigans?

  • How do I make a Group on the new facebook?

I'm trying to make a group on facebook and when I do it, it doesn't show up like the other groups I've done in the past. Now it shows my profile information on the left hand side of the page and appears like a long feed, not the way other groups look. Anyone know where else to go to get the regular format?

  • Weight training for fat loss - is cardio requiered too?

I've started a program of weight training that involves me doing different weight exercises for muscle confusion and it feels great and I can tell I'm building. Should I be doing cardio as well though or is the intense weights for 30min enough? (I feel tired after-cardio would be hard to add on)

    I'm 29yr female. 160lbs/5'6

  • Is it better to book a trip south in February last minute or ahead of time?

We're flying from Canada to either Dominican Republic, Cuba, or Mexico. I have a few good websites for good deals, but should we book now or wait until the week before since we don't care much about where we go? We want a 3 or 4star resort for a week.

  • How do I know if I'm pushing myself hard enough at the gym?

I've been working out 3-5times a week for the last 2 months now and I used to hate it. It was easy to push myself because everything was hard and I couldn't even run 30minutes straight. Now that I'm in better shape and I actually like going, I don't know if I'm pushing hard enough. It's easier to tell with doing weights, but with cardio I can't tell if I'm pushing myself hard enough. I'm thinking that i should introduce an incline instead of focusing on speed (I run 3miles in 28minutes). And because I keep getting faster each run and because I feel great after I run, I feel almost guilty because I think I should feel like crap.

Should I be feeling like crap after my run???

  • Should I work out with sore muscles?

I've been going to the gym pretty avidly for a couple months now, doing weights and cardio. Last night I had a really great run on the treadmill and today my calves and hamstrings are sore. Should I work out again tonight or should I leave it for a day?

  • How much does muscle weighing more than fat really effect weight loss?

I've been working out for a little over a month now - weights and a treadmill, and I've noticed a slight different in my body and in the way my clothes fit, however the scale has been quite disappointing. It's told me that I've lost 0.5lbs in about 3weeks. I've been eating well and working out 3-5 times per week. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but does it make that much of a difference on the scale, especially after only a month?

  • How do I fix the tightness in the backs of my legs?

It's mostly right behind my knees and I can't even touch the floor when I bend over. I've been working out a lot lately and just started adding more weights, so I'm sure that's it. Maybe today's workout I should just walk on the treadmill to stretch them out?

  • Should I add water to my crock pot ribs?

I'm making about 2lbs of ribs in a crock pot. I put them on a bed of onions, and then dumped a bottle of bbq sauce on them. Now I'm reading that I maybe should have put water in first. Should I add that now? I JUST started cooking them

  • Can I mix and match different suit jackets and dress pants?

For instance - can I wear a pinstriped jacket with black dress pants? I also bought a greyish-blue coloured blue jacket - it's a sturdy cotton, but I don't know what to pair it with on the bottom.

  • Is walking for 60min just as good as running for 30min for weight loss?

I hate running, but I still want to get healthy and do some exercise. I know that running is an excellent cardio exercise, but I absolutely hate it. Can I get away with power walking for twice as long (and about the same distance) instead?

(I know the other components needed for weight loss, like eating right and weight training - this question is strictly about running vs. walking)

  • Should my skirt be around my hips or my waist?

I bought a cute flowered skirt with a wide black elastic band that I plan on wearing with a white tank. Should the black band go around my waist though, or my hips? (It might be a little a big, because it's loose around my waist, but fits around my hips)
