Should I work out with sore muscles?
I've been going to the gym pretty avidly for a couple months now, doing weights and cardio. Last night I had a really great run on the treadmill and today my calves and hamstrings are sore. Should I work out again tonight or should I leave it for a day?

When you work out, you create microscopic tears in your muscle fibers, this is what makes them sore. Your muscles get stronger and bigger by fixing these tears and making the muscle fiber thicker. You should let your muscles recover until they aren't sore anymore or you could do more harm then good.

Hi Sarah -
Do a reduced routine if you are still sore then. Hopefully you are alternating muscle group workouts to every other day to allow rest and rebuild.
Weights one day, cardio the next?
Try and take one full day of rest a week to give the whole body a chance to recover.
I usually do a brisk 30 minute walk just to stretch out on my off day.
Good luck.
