Couldn't a player take one snap to keep a games started streak going?

Everybody is saying Brett Favre's games started streak will end because of his foot but couldn't he just take one snap and then they could bench him for the rest of the game?

Yes, I think that would qualify him as the "starter". I could be wrong, but I don't think there is any rule about number of plays or time or any other determinant. Course, then we'd break out the asterisks for the record book like with Bonds.

    Yes, in theory, he could.

But the catch is, the Vikings would have to activate Favre for a game in which he basically doesn't play in. Teams can have just 45 of their 53 players active for a game, so Minnesota would potentially be short at a position if an injury occurred.

    That would lame.
